Standoff tracking control of underwater glider to moving target

Applied Mathematical Modelling, 2022
Abstract The standoff tracking control of underwater glider to moving targets has non-negligible potentials in oceanic observations. To perform such operations, this study presents an integrated standoff tracking method that focuses on dealing with the coupled motions and under-actuated characteristics of the gliders as well as offsetting the dilemma

Vector field guidance for standoff target tracking

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2022
This work presents a guidance algorithm for standoff target tracking by unmanned aerial vehicles using the traditional Lyapunov guidance vector field framework. Unlike the past work, this guidance law is the function of the minimum radius of curvature, and, hence, it can act more flexibly for different maneuverable vehicles.

UAV Standoff Tracking for Narrow-Area Target in Complex Environment

IEEE Systems Journal, 2022
This article studies the path planning for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) standoff tracking a narrow-area target in complex environment. Since the target state estimation considerably influences the target tracking performance, the constrained interacting multiple model, which uses the geographic information of narrow-areas to enhance the estimation ...

Coordinated standoff tracking of moving targets using differential geometry

Journal of Zhejiang University: Science C, 2014
This research is concerned with coordinated standoff tracking, and a guidance law against a moving target is proposed by using differential geometry. We first present the geometry between the unmanned aircraft (UA) and the target to obtain the convergent solution of standoff tracking when the speed ratio of the UA to the target is larger than one. Then,

Standoff Tracking of Multi-UAVs Simultaneous Arriving

2020 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2020
For standoff tracking problem with multi-UAVs simultaneous arriving, a new Lyapunov vector field and the cooperative velocity controller based on tau-coupling theory are proposed. Compare with other LVF, a settable parameter added to the ratio Lyapunov vector field (RLVF) in this paper makes it possible to balance the convergence speed and angular rate

Standoff tracking of a ground target based on coordinated turning guidance law

ISA Transactions, 2022
Target tracking is a typical application of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). However, it is difficult for the existing guidance laws to meet the requirements of convergence speed and tracking accuracy at the same time. A new guidance law based on a coordinated turning equation is proposed to achieve target tracking, and its asymptotic stability is ...

Standoff tracking control of moving target in unknown wind

Proceedings of the 48h IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held jointly with 2009 28th Chinese Control Conference, 2009
This paper considers the problem of standoff tracking control for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) where the UAV is used to track a moving target in unknown background wind. A new control approach combining the Lyapunov guidance vector field approach and a modified adaptive estimation strategy to estimate the velocities of unknown constant wind and ...

Comprehensive Optimization of Energy Storage and Standoff Tracking for Solar-Powered UAV

IEEE Systems Journal, 2020
Compared with traditional unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the solar-powered UAV (SUAV) has longer endurance by converting solar energy into electric energy. This article focuses on the comprehensive optimization of energy storage and standoff tracking performance for SUAV with application to the target tracking task.

Integrated Guidance and Control for UAV Standoff Target Tracking

2018 IEEE CSAA Guidance, Navigation and Control Conference (CGNCC), 2018
Aiming at the 3D standoff target tracking problem with six degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) nonlinear dynamic model in windy environment, this paper designs an integrated tracking guidance and control system based on the 3D Lyapunov Guidance Vector Field (LGVF) and the linear active disturbance rejection control (LADRC).

Circular Motion Guidance Law for Coordinated Standoff Tracking of a Moving Target

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013
A guidance law is presented to enable a coordinated standoff tracking of a moving target with multiple fixed-wing unmanned aircraft. The standoff tracking guidance law makes multiple aircraft circle around a moving target while maintaining a specific distance from it with a desired circling rate.
