Investigating Dysbiosis‐Driven Colonization by Staphylococcus aureus and the Mitigative Potential of Medicinal Plants in Diabetes‐Linked Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Gut &Microbiome Research, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Objective Antibiotic‐induced dysbiosis predisposes hosts to colonization by opportunists such as Staphylococcus aureus, with downstream metabolic and inflammatory consequences. This study evaluated the physiological impact of dysbiosis and S. aureus challenge in rats and tested three Nigerian medicinal plants, Vernonia amygdalina (Bitter Leaf ...

Robust space‐time adaptive processing for airborne radar with coprime arrays in presence of gain and phase errors

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2021
Space‐time adaptive processing (STAP) for sparse arrays such as coprime and nested arrays is shown to have improved performance for clutter suppression in airborne radar as compared with uniform linear arrays with the same size.

Revisiting the Relationship Between Changes in Global‐Mean Surface Air Temperature and Sea Surface Temperature at the Last Glacial Maximum

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 24, 28 December 2025.
Abstract The relationship between changes in surface air temperature and sea surface temperature is important for understanding past and future climate change. In this study, we use reconstructions and model simulations to investigate the ratio of global mean air versus sea surface temperature change (S) during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM).

Olfactory identification deficits following Covid‐19 in older adults and its impact on cognition

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 21, Issue S3, December 2025.
Abstract Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid‐19) is an ongoing viral pandemic and smell dysfunction is one of the symptoms. Olfactory impairment in general has been associated with increased mortality, poor quality of life, increased incidence of depression and risk for dementia.

Three-dimensional sparse recovery space-time adaptive processing for airborne radar

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Conventional 3-dimensional (3D) space-time adaptive processing (STAP) has achieved good performance for non-stationary clutter suppression. However, the performance of 3D STAP rapidly degrades when applied to heterogeneous clutter environment due to the ...

Cholesterol‐Lowering and Radical Scavenging Potential of Fermented Black Kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala): From Pilot‐Scale Production to in Vivo Study

open access: yesChemFoodChem, Volume 1, Issue 2, December 1, 2025.
Abstract Vegetables are rich in bioactive compounds, including fibers and minerals, providing a conspicuous contribution to achieving health benefits. In this study, black kale (Brassica oleracea var. acephala, BK) was fermented using Saccharomyces cerevisiae LI180‐7 strain at pilot scale, producing a safe and consumable product featured by improved ...

Keystone Predation: What Is It, and Is It Supported by Empirical Evidence?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 12, December 2025.
Keystone predation has been widely cited as a key ecological mechanism controlling community structures, but is supported by limited theoretical and experimental studies. Reviewing these studies showed keystone predation has been documented across realms, appears to be most prevalent in sessile and dispersal‐limited communities and can be modified by ...

Eigenvalue Adjustment-Based STAP in Airborne MIMO Radar Under Limited Snapshots

open access: yesSensors
The covariance matrix performs a vital role for space-time adaptive processing (STAP) in airborne multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. As is known, the clutter-plus-noise covariance matrix (CPNCM), reflecting the statistical characteristics of ...

Accelerometer‐Determined Physical Activity and Sarcopenic Obesity Risk in Older European Men and Women

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 16, Issue 6, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Sarcopenic obesity (SO) is characterized by the presence of both obesity and sarcopenia and is related to disability and loss of independence in older adults. The extent to which time spent in light physical activity (LPA), or moderate‐to‐vigorous physical activity (MVPA) is associated with SO risk in older adults remains unclear ...

Is the Perception of the Frequency of Use of Parental Pressure and Directive Behaviors Related to Elite Adolescent Athletes’ Burnout, Emotions, and Motivation?

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 25, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Parents have arguably a significant impact on athletes' experiences favoring mental health of elite adolescent athletes. However, parents can have negative effects in adopting regular pressure and directive behaviors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between directive and pressure behaviors from mothers and fathers ...
