Electrical Impedance Tomography Monitoring of Salt Transportation in Cellulose Hydrogel for Solar‐Driven Evaporative Desalination via Laser Defined Wettability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solar‐driven evaporation is a promising solution to the global water crisis; however, it faces a significant challenge of salt accumulation during the evaporation process. This study introduces an innovative in situ electrical impedance tomography technique for real‐time monitoring of salt transportation in the evaporator.

In vitro activity of Tedizolid and Dalbavancin against MRSA strains is dependent on infection source

open access: yesInternational Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2019
Objective: We tested the in vitro susceptibility to Tedizolid and Dalbavancin of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains recovered from blood and wound cultures, and compared our results with studies conducted in the last four years.

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Curcuma longa flower extract and antibacterial activity [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Silver nanoparticles (AgNP's) possess inherent biological potentials that have obliged an alternative, eco-friendly, sustainable approach to "Green Synthesis." In the present study, we synthesized Green Silver Nanoparticles (GAgNP's) using Curcuma longa L. (C. longa) flower extract as a reducing and capping agent.

Bioinspired Shape Reconfigurable, Printable, and Conductive “E‐Skin” Patch with Robust Antibacterial Properties for Human Health Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this article, Hojin Kim, Sayan Deb Dutta, and co‐workers report a shape‐reconfigurable, 3D printable, and highly adhesive slime‐like ‘electronic skin’ or ‘E‐skin’ patch for human health sensing and tissue engineering applications. The dual reinforcement of hydrogel patch with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) improve the ...

Microbubble‐Controlled Delivery of Biofilm‐Targeting Nanoparticles to Treat MRSA Infection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, an effective strategy using microbubble (MB)‐controlled delivery of biofilm‐targeting nanoparticles (BTNs) for removal and therapy of methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) biofilm infections is introduced. In vivo delivery of MB with BTN is demonstrated to silence key bacterial genes involved in biofilm formation (icaA), bacterial ...

The Relationship between Nasal Carriage of Staphylococcus aureus and Surgical Site Infections in a Hospital Center in Morocco

open access: yesInternational Journal of Microbiology, 2021
Background. Surgical site infection is a major public health problem in the world. Nasal carriage is a major risk factor for the development of nosocomial Staphylococcus aureus infection, especially methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Our
