Bacteriophage Transduction in Staphylococcus epidermidis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The genetic manipulation of Staphylococcus epidermidis for molecular experimentation has long been an area of difficulty. Many of the traditional laboratory techniques for strain construction are laborious and hampered by poor efficiency. The ability to move chromosomal genetic markers and plasmids using bacteriophage transduction has greatly increased

High Humidity Exacerbates Psoriasiform Skin Disease Relapse by Increasing Tissue‐Resident Memory T Cells via Altering Skin Microbiota

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrated that high humidity worsened psoriasis relapse in murine psoriasiform skin inflammation by increasing skin‐resident memory CD8+ cells via upregulating IL‐15Rα on keratinocytes. The increases in IL‐15Rα and memory CD8+ cells were attributed to S. nepalensis and its metabolite ADMA in skin exposed to high humidity.

Inflammatory cytokines and biofilm production sustain Staphylococcus aureus outgrowth and persistence: A pivotal interplay in the pathogenesis of Atopic Dermatitis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Individuals with Atopic dermatitis (AD) are highly susceptible to Staphylococcus aureus colonization. However, the mechanisms driving this process as well as the impact of S. aureus in AD pathogenesis are still incompletely understood.

Fecal non-aureus Staphylococci are a potential cause of bovine intramammary infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The presence of non-aureus staphylococci (NAS) in bovine rectal feces has recently been described. Similar to other mastitis causing pathogens, shedding of NAS in the environment could result in intramammary infection.

Bacteria as Ovipositional Attractants for \u3ci\u3eAedes Aegypti\u3c/i\u3e (Diptera: Culicidae) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The effectiveness of selected bacterial species as ovipositional attractants for Aedes aegypti was compared. Bacterial washes, in glass containers, were utilized as ovipositional substrates and subsequent egg counts determined the degree of ovipositional
