Measuring satisfaction in societies with opinion leaders and mediators [PDF]
An opinion leader-follower model (OLF) is a two-action collective decision-making model for societies, in which three kinds of actors are considered ...

Frozen by Heating: Temperature Controlled Dynamic States in Droplet Microswimmers
In the design of smart materials based on active agents or microswimmers, the gaits or motile states of the agents are to be controlled, preferably by external parameters that do not require modifying the composition of the system. A facile, universal parameter is temperature.

A sandwich‐like device for stick‐slip perception is developed, featuring a deformable bioinspired ridge layer with capability of lateral deformation and fast recovery. Coupled with magnetized functionality, the morphological transformation is capable to induce periodical electrical pulses which allows to revisit the stick‐slip process when human ...

Isomorphic Strategy Spaces in Game Theory [PDF]
This book summarizes ongoing research introducing probability space isomorphic mappings into the strategy spaces of game theory. This approach is motivated by discrepancies between probability theory and game theory when applied to the same strategic situation.

Alignment, Rising, Sticking, and Phototaxis: Modulating the Behavior of Hematite Micropeanuts
Although a rich variety of behaviors, such as rising and phototaxis, are observed with light‐activated semiconductor microparticles, the experimental conditions under which such behaviors occur have not been elucidated. In this study, pH, fuel concentration, and light intensity are varied, revealing diverse behaviors of hematite microparticles.

The Game Value of Sequential Compounds of Integers and Stars [PDF]
A combinatorial game is a two-player game without hidden information or chance elements. One of the major approaches to analyzing games in combinatorial game theory is to break down a given game position into a disjunctive sum of multiple sub-positions, then evaluate the game value of each component of the sum, and finally integrate these game values ...

Intellectual Property in Experience [PDF]
In today’s economy, consumers demand experiences. From Star Wars to Harry Potter, fans do not just want to watch or read about their favorite characters— they want to be them. They don the robes of Gryffindor, flick their wands, and drink the butterbeer.

Fabrication of Ultra‐Thick Masks for X‐Ray Phase Contrast Imaging at Higher Energy
This work shows a fabrication route to 500 µm thick X‐ray masks the thickest ever reported in the literature combining dynamic optimization of etching parameters and superconformal bismuth‐mediated gold filling. Their use in an Edge Illunomination set‐up showed their higher phase sensitivity at higher energies compared to thinner masks, especially for ...

This experiment investigates the development of a highly sensitive biosensor platform incorporating AuNPs with TiO2‐NTs as electrode materials. Robust PNA probes and an optimized hybridization protocol are employed to enhance performance. An appropriate level of AuNPs on the surface effectively prevents non‐specific binding of target DNA fragments ...

A New Algorithm for the Subtraction Games [PDF]
Subtraction games is a class of combinatorial games. It was solved since the Sprague-Grundy Theory was put forward. This paper described a new algorithm for subtraction games. The new algorithm can find win or lost positions in subtraction games. In addition, it is much simpler than Sprague-Grundy Theory in one pile of the games.
