Bridging Nature and Technology: A Perspective on Role of Machine Learning in Bioinspired Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the development of bioinspired ceramics. This article investigates how ML can be used to design new ceramic materials with exceptional performance, inspired by the structures found in nature. The research highlights how ML can predict material properties, optimize designs, and create advanced models to unlock a ...

Comply subtraction games avoiding arithmetic progressions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Impartial subtraction games on the nonnegative integers have been studied by many and discussed in detail in for example the remarkable work Winning Ways by Conway, Berlekamp and Guy. We describe how comply variations of these games, similar to those introduced by Holshouser, Reiter, Smith, St\u{a}nic\u{a}, can be defined as having its sets of winning ...

Partitioning and Coarsening Dynamics of Precipitate‐Strengthened Cr‐Si Alloys: The Role of Ge, Pt, and Mo

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The microstructure of Cr‐rich Cr‐Si‐alloys is maintained by alloying with Ge, Pt, and Mo. The effects of these elements on A15‐phase fraction, partitioning, microstructural stability, grain size, and hardness are combinable. Molybdenum is found to be the most promising alloying element for microstructural stability during high‐temperature exposure.

Stars and Celebrities: A Network Creation Game [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Celebrity games, a new model of network creation games is introduced. The specific features of this model are that players have different celebrity weights and that a critical distance is taken into consideration. The aim of any player is to be close (at distance less than critical) to the others, mainly to those with high celebrity weights.

How fast can Maker win in fair biased games? [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We study (a:a) Maker-Breaker games played on the edge set of the complete graph on n vertices. In the following four games - perfect matching game, Hamilton cycle game, star factor game and path factor game, our goal is to determine the least number of moves which Maker needs in order to win these games.

A New Mathematical Model for Evolutionary Games on Finite Networks of Players [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A new mathematical model for evolutionary games on graphs is proposed to extend the classical replicator equation to finite populations of players organized on a network with generic topology.
