What triggers galaxy transformations? The environments of post-starburst galaxies [PDF]
(abridged) There are good observational reasons to believe that the progenitors of red galaxies have undergone starbursts, followed by a post-starburst phase.

DIRECT DETECTION OF LYMAN CONTINUUM ESCAPE FROM LOCAL STARBURST GALAXIES WITH THE COSMIC ORIGINS SPECTROGRAPH [PDF]
We report on the detection of Lyman continuum radiation in two nearby starburst galaxies. Tol 0440-381, Tol 1247-232, and Mrk 54 were observed with the Cosmic Origins Spectrograph on board the Hubble Space Telescope.

The Observer’s Guide to the Gamma‐Ray Burst Supernova Connection
We present a detailed report of the connection between long‐duration gamma‐ray bursts (GRBs) and their accompanying supernovae (SNe). The discussion presented here places emphasis on how observations, and the modelling of observations, have constrained what we know about GRB‐SNe.

Group-cluster merging and the formation of starburst galaxies [PDF]
A significant fraction of clusters of galaxies are observed to have substructure, which implies that merging between clusters and subclusters is a rather common physical process of cluster formation. It still remains unclear how cluster merging affects

Neutrino production in starburst galaxies
Understanding the origin of the diffuse flux of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos detected by IceCube has become a challenging issue within present High Energy Astrophysics.

The evolution of post-starburst galaxies from z=2 to 0.5 [PDF]
We present the evolution in the number density and stellar mass functions of photometrically selected post-starburst galaxies in the UKIDSSUltraDeep Survey, with redshifts of 0.5 10.

Growth of Accreting Supermassive Black Hole Seeds and Neutrino Radiation
In the framework of microscopic theory of black hole (MTBH), which explores the most important processes of rearrangement of vacuum state and spontaneous breaking of gravitation gauge symmetry at huge energies, we have undertaken a large series of numerical simulations with the goal to trace an evolution of the mass assembly history of 377 plausible ...

Molecular tracers of PDR-dominated galaxies [PDF]
Photon-dominated regions (PDRs) are powerful molecular line emitters in external galaxies. They are expected in galaxies with high rates of massive star formation due to either starburst (SB) events or starburst coupled with active galactic nuclei (AGN ...

UGC 7639: A Dwarf Galaxy in the Canes Venatici I Cloud
We want to get insight into the formation mechanism and the evolution of UGC 7639, a dwarf galaxy in the Canes Venatici I Cloud (CVnIC). We used archival multiwavelength data to constrain its global properties. Ultraviolet images show that UGC 7639 inner regions are composed mostly by young stellar populations.
