Theory and evidence of global Rossby waves in upper main-sequence stars: r-mode oscillations in many Kepler stars [PDF]
Asteroseismic inference from pressure modes (p modes) and buoyancy, or gravity, modes (g modes) is ubiquitous for stars across the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. Until now, however, discussion of r modes (global Rossby waves) has been rare.

Objective Cam morphology, which is a significant risk factor for hip osteoarthritis, is commonly quantified by the alpha angle (AA). This study aims to explore the potential of the triangular index ratio (TIR) to quantify cam morphology on anteroposterior radiographs by assessing the association between TIR‐defined cam morphology and the development of

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Constraining Stellar Rotation at the Zero-age Main Sequence with TESS [PDF]
The zero-age main sequence (ZAMS) is a critical phase for stellar angular momentum evolution, as stars transition from contraction-dominated spin-up to magnetic wind-dominated spin-down.

Rotation-differential rotation relationships for late-type single and binary stars from Doppler imaging [PDF]
From our sample of spotted late-type stars showing surface differential rotation we find that the relationship between the rotation period and the surface shear coefficient $\alpha=\Delta\Omega/\Omega_{\rm eq}$ is significantly different for single ...

The tribological behavior of 100Cr6 steel spheres textured via Vickers microindentation is evaluated under lubricated sliding by varying both dimple size and density. Fine and dense textures significantly reduce friction across all lubrication regimes, while large dimples increase it.

The rotation rates of massive stars
Context. Rotation plays a key role in the life cycles of stars with masses above ~8 M⊙. Hence, accurate knowledge of the rotation rates of such massive stars is critical for understanding their properties and for constraining models of their evolution.

Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.
