Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Discovery of a Long Thermonuclear X-Ray Burst from the Ultracompact Binary 4U 1850–087
We report the detection of a long X-ray burst from the ultracompact binary 4U 1850–087. The type I X-ray burst was observed on MJD 60171.65 by the Monitor of All-sky X-ray Image and Neutron Star Interior Composition Explorer (NICER). We analyze the NICER

Correction of UBV Photometry for Emission Lines
We investigate the effect on U,B,V magnitudes of the removal of emission lines from the spectra of some symbiotic stars and novae during their nebular phases.

PARSEC evolutionary tracks of massive stars up to 350 M ☉ at metallicities 0.0001 ≤ Z ≤ 0.04 [PDF]
We complement the PARSEC data base of stellar evolutionary tracks with new models of massive stars, from the pre-main sequence phase to the central carbon ignition. We consider a broad range of metallicities, 0.0001$\leq Z \leq$0.04 and initial masses up

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Expanding single-trace YMS amplitudes with gauge-invariant coefficients
In this note, we use the new bottom-up method based on soft theorems to recursively construct the expansion of single-trace Yang–Mills-scalar amplitudes.

High-Resolution Spectroscopy of Cool Carbon-Rich and Metal-Poor Star HD 209621
Element abundances for HD 209621 obtained earlier display significant discrepancies, especially in the case of CNO and neutron-capture elements. Therefore we performed a detailed analysis of chemical composition of this star using a new high-resolution ...

The Scintillation of Stars [PDF]
IN a recent communication in Nature1, Dr. A. H. R. Goldie has suggested that the scintillation of stars may be associated with waves at an interface between two currents of air which have a difference of temperature of the order of 5–7° F. “Such waves,” he writes, “should not uncommonly have an amplitude of the order of up to 500–1,000 ft.

Purification tags markedly affect self‐aggregation of CPEB3
Although recombinant proteins are used to study protein aggregation in vitro, uncleaved tags can interfere with accurate interpretation. Our findings demonstrate that His₆‐GFP and His₁₂ tags significantly affect liquid droplet and amyloid fibril formation in the intrinsically disordered region (IDR) of mouse cytoplasmic polyadenylation element‐binding ...
