Bioenergy Cropping Reduces the Spatiotemporal Scaling of Soil Bacterial Biodiversity
Consistent with patterns observed in plant and animal communities, soil bacterial communities exhibit significant species–time–area and phylogenetic–time–area relationships independent of nested structure. Bioenergy cropping significantly reduces the spatiotemporal scaling rates, particularly in sandy loam soils.

How to protect estuaries in Durham, NH [PDF]
Estuaries are some of the most diverse and fragile ecosystems on our planet. All over the nation, along the coastal states, half of the wetlands, about 55 million acres, have been destroyed (“Habitat Loss Nationwide,” n.d.).

Icariin promoted the growth of Akk by enhancing the activity of N‐acetylgalactosaminidase (Amuc_0920), which enhanced mucin utilization and provided a favorable nutrient environment for bacterial growth. This icariin‐mediated enrichment of Akk further reshaped the tumor microenvironment and promoted CD8+ T cell infiltration, ultimately synergizing with

Global Nitrogen Deposition Promotes Carbon Sink Formation in Terrestrial Ecosystems
Nitrogen deposition alleviates ecosystem N limitation and enhances carbon sinks. Using 829 observations, we show 36% of deposited N is retained globally (39.15 Tg N yr−1), with distinct NHx and NOy contributions. This retention drives a terrestrial C sink of 0.88 Pg C yr−1 (25.48%), highlighting the importance of pool‐specific C:N stoichiometry ...

Start-up activity in the LLM ecosystem
AbstractThe technical and mainstream media’s headline coverage of AI invariably centers around the often astounding abilities demonstrated by large language models. That’s hardly surprising, since to all intents and purposes that’s where the newsworthy magic of generative AI lies.

Effects of Ground Level Ozone on Vegetation [PDF]
All the experiments conducted in this project use ozone exposures that either are already currently occurring or are expected to occur over UK uplands this century, if predictions of increasing „background‟ ozone exposure are correct.

Corals and Reef‐Dwelling Fish Regulate Carbon Storage and Cycling Processes in Coral Reef Ecosystems
Coral reefs are biodiversity hotspots, yet their role in carbon storage and cycling remains poorly understood. Using field surveys and modeling in the South China Sea, we reveal the overlooked potential of carbon storage in reef ecosystems and how reef fish, corals, and surface sediment jointly shape reef carbon reservoirs.
