Software Development in Startup Companies: The Greenfield Startup Model

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 2016
Software startups are newly created companies with no operating history and oriented towards producing cutting-edge products. However, despite the increasing importance of startups in the economy, few scientific studies attempt to address software engineering issues, especially for early-stage startups.

Single‐Target Pairing System (StarPair) for Large‐Scale Interrogation of Cell–Cell Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a single‐target pairing system, StarPair, enabling cell–cell interaction studies by target combination in droplets. StarPair offers superior pairing efficiencies over 95% and operation frequencies of 105 pairs per 9.5 h for two‐target pairing, allowing large‐scale interrogation of immune cell‐cancer cell interactions and precise ...

Targeting Peptostreptococcus anaerobius with an Iron‐Based Nanozyme Reverses Ferroptosis Resistance and Enhances Antitumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An iron‐based nanozyme selectively eliminates intratumoral P. anaerobius while catalytically generating ROS to induce ferroptosis, synergistically suppressing colorectal cancer growth and activating anti‐tumor immunity through immunogenic cell death. ABSTRACT The intratumoral microbiota is a critical determinant of therapeutic outcomes in colorectal ...

USP35 Acts as a Deubiquitinating Enzyme for ID3 to Promote Immune Escape in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
USP35 stabilizes ID3 expression by deubiquitinating the K2/K30 site, thereby upregulating PD‐L1 and promoting immune escape in colorectal cancer. IU1, an inhibitor of USP35 enzyme activity, has been shown to inhibit USP35, thereby accelerating ID3 degradation, enhancing CD8+ T cell killing, and reversing the immunosuppressive microenvironment ...

V2I-based startup assistance system at signalized intersections

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
Traffic delays are caused by unskilled vehicle operation and driver distraction during the startup process at signalized intersections. To address this issue, we propose a V2I-based driver assistance system that can acquire the current traffic signal ...

Genome‐Wide CRISPR Screen Reveals PIK3CA Inhibition Enhances Lipid Nanoparticle‐Mediated siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A genome‐wide CRISPR screen and identifies PIK3CA as a key regulator of lipid nanoparticle (LNP) uptake is performed. Modulating PIK3CA with small‐molecule inhibitor BAY1082439 enhanced LNP uptake, siRNA delivery, and gene silencing in a variety of epithelial cells, and improved therapeutic outcomes in vivo.

An Elastocaloric Polymer with Ultra‐High Solid‐State Cooling via Defect Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work reports a defect‐engineering strategy that enables a record‐high adiabatic temperature change of up to 8.14 ± 1.76 °C in elastomers at an elevated temperature above 65 °C. Combined experimental and theoretical efforts reveal that increasing dangling‐chain defects nonmonotonically impacts the elastocaloric cooling performance of polymers due ...
