Government as orchestrator: Ecosystem transformation at scale and speed

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Grand challenges are ecosystem challenges: success depends on aligning a multilateral set of public and private sector actors whose interdependent contributions determine whether a mission is achieved. Drifting to the top? The effects of category erraticism on status mobility in the U.S. venture capital industry

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary We examine the effects of category erraticism, that is, having moved across socio‐cognitively distant industry categories over time, on status mobility. We argue that it is not the breadth of the categories that a firm spans or the overall distance among those categories, but whether its movement across categories forms a ...

Stimuli‐responsive nanostructured hydrogen sulfide donors for enhanced cancer treatments

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
Three typical kinds of stimuli‐responsive nanostructured hydrogen sulfide (H2S) donors are reviewed. The nanostructures ensure precise delivery of H2S to the lesion site and regulate the release behavior. The H2S‐based gas therapy has been used to synergize with other cancer treatment modalities, achieving enhanced efficacy while reducing side effects.

A Model Based Systems Engineering Framework for Digital Twins in Medical Device Innovation

open access: yesSystems Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Medical device development remains constrained by development processes centered largely in the physical domain. These methods limited early understanding of system behavior and prolonged timelines relative to other innovation pathways. Such limitations increase prototype cycle duration and the number of iterations required to resolve design ...
