Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Multi-State Dependent Impulsive Control for Holling I Predator-Prey Model

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2012
According to the different effects of biological and chemical control, we propose a model for Holling I functional response predator-prey system concerning pest control which adopts different control methods at different thresholds. By using differential

Improved robust H∞ exponential mean square stabilization for uncertain Markov jump delay systems based on memory‐state feedback control

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper investigates the problem of robust H∞ exponential mean square stabilisation for uncertain Markov jump systems with time‐varying and mode‐dependent delays based on memory‐state feedback control.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Control of nonlinear state-dependent systems using a receding horizon strategy

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2016
A variety of nonlinear control design methods have been proposed for controlling severe nonlinear processes over the past three decades. The vast majority of approaches take a nonlinear affine representation of the system dynamics.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
