Observer techniques for estimating the state-of-charge and state-of-health of VRLABs for hybrid electric vehicles [PDF]
The paper describes the application of observer-based state-estimation techniques for the real-time prediction of state-of-charge (SoC) and state-of-health (SoH) of lead-acid cells.

Optimal State-of-Charge Value for Charge-Sustaining Mode of Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles
For plug-in hybrid electric vehicles or extended range electric vehicles, battery stored energy often cannot fully meet the travel needs, and the battery needs to stay in a charge-sustaining mode to allow for backup sources such as gasoline or diesel to ...

Unconventional thermal metallic state of charge-neutral fermions in an insulator
Quantum oscillations (QOs) in transport and thermodynamic parameters at high magnetic fields are an unambiguous signature of the Fermi surface, the defining characteristic of a metal.

ELECTRONIC BOUND STATES OF CHARGED SOLITON
The existing theory points out that the soliton in polyacetylene only possess one electronic bound state-the mid gap state. Our work shows that, due to the electron interaction and the discrete atomic structure of polymer chain, the charged solitons have two bound states in the gap; one is a deep level, which is 0.2eV away from the midpoint of the gap;

Influence of State of Charge Estimation Uncertainty on Energy Management Strategies for Hybrid Electric Vehicles [PDF]
This paper studies how the optimal energy management of a hybrid electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle is affected by uncertain estimates of the battery state of charge.
