WAVELET BASED CUTTING STATE IDENTIFICATION

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1998
Abstract Chatter and non-chatter cutting states, associated with the orthogonal cutting of stiff metal cylinders, are identified through an analysis of the ratios of the mean absolute deviations of details of the biorthogonal 6,8 wavelet decomposition of cutting force measurements. Sequences of cutting experiments were performed in which either depth

PROBABILISTIC FINITE STATE SYSTEM IDENTIFICATION

International Journal of General Systems, 1982
Abstract This paper explores the problem of finding behavioral models of finite state systems, given observed data of systems which are presumed to lie in this category. Following an informal introduction, a formal definition of an identification problem is given along with the form that a solution to such a problem may be expected to lake.

State Identification in Nonlinear Systems

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2005
A state estimation method based on finding a system state that causes a model to match a set of system measurements is regularized by requiring that sudden changes in system state be avoided. The required optimization is accomplished by a pattern search algorithm. The method does not require derivative information or linearization of the model.

State Identification of Reaction Products.

1977
Abstract : We have employed lasers to study elementary chemical reactions and to examine the structure of molecular ions. Specifically, we have: (1) investigated the effect of atomic reagent approach geometry on the outcome of chemical reaction, (2) examined ion unimolecular fragmentation kinetics using a novel multiphoton ionization technique, (3 ...
