A Battery State of Charge Estimation Method with Extended Kalman Filter

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a battery State of Charge (SOC) estimation method based on the extended Kalman filter is proposed. In some known battery SOC estimation methods, it is assumed that the relationship between battery open circuit voltage and SOC is linear and

Particle filter for state of charge and state of health estimation for lithium-iron phosphate batteries

open access: yes, 2022
S.705-710The paper presents a new approach for state estimation of lithium-iron phosphate batteries. Lithium-iron phosphate/graphite batteries are very intricate in state of charge estimation since the open circuit voltage characteristic is flat and ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Advancing State of Charge Management in Electric Vehicles With Machine Learning: A Technological Review

open access: yesIEEE Access
As the share of electric vehicles increases, electric vehicles are exposed to broader of driving conditions (e.g., extreme weather), which reduce the performance and driving ranges of electric vehicles below their nameplate rating.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Robust Online Estimation of State of Health for Lithium-Ion Batteries Based on Capacities under Dynamical Operation Conditions

open access: yesBatteries
Lithium-ion batteries, as the main energy storage component of electric vehicles (EVs), play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the battery systems through monitoring their state of health (SOH). However, temperature variations

Online State-of-Charge Estimation for Lithium-Ion Batteries Considering Model Inaccuracies Under Time-Varying Current Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Load currents of batteries undergo real-time change depending on the operations of battery-powered devices, such as acceleration, deceleration, and sudden braking of electric vehicles.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Temperature effect on space charge dynamics in XLPE insulation

open access: yes, 2007
This paper reports on space charge evolution in crosslinked polyethylene (XLPE) planar samples approximately 1.20 mm thick subjected to electric stress level of 30 kVdc/mm under four temperature 25 oC, 50 oC, 70 oC and 90 oC for 24 hours.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
