The state-dependent nonlinear regulator with state constraints

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
In this paper an extension of the state-dependent Riccati equations method to regulation of systems with state constraints is considered. First, a sufficient condition is introduced to characterize state constraints and it is shown how to design state-dependent regulators to satisfy this conditions.

Regulation of hemodynamic and anesthetic states

2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003
Two important monitoring and control topics in critical care are discussed. A multiple-model predictive control approach is used to regulate blood pressure and cardiac output by manipulating the infusion rate of two drugs. Depth of anesthesia is estimated by integrating the complexity, regularity, and spectral entropy information of EEG using an ...

State Regulation and Hospital Costs

The Review of Economics and Statistics, 1995
The effects of various regulations on hospital costs are estimated using a two decade long panel data set which spans the initiation, and in some instances the repeal, of various forms of hospital regulation. The long panel fosters two improvements over previous research.
