In the United States, cosmetics are regulated under the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act and the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act. Accordingly, cosmetic ingredients, with the exception of color additives, are not subject to premarket approval. However, they must not be adulterated or misbranded.

The state-dependent nonlinear regulator with state constraints

In this paper an extension of the state-dependent Riccati equations method to regulation of systems with state constraints is considered. First, a sufficient condition is introduced to characterize state constraints and it is shown how to design state-dependent regulators to satisfy this conditions.

This article explains the results of a survey of state regulators regarding enforcement of telemarketing laws in their jurisdictions. The article particularly examines the validity and efficacy of state registration requirements for telemarketers.
