A Longitudinal Study of the Bladder Cancer Applying a State-Space Model with Non-Exponential Staying Time in States

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
A longitudinal study for 847 bladder cancer patients for a period of fifteen years is presented. After the first surgery, the patients undergo successive ones (recurrences).

A Sweep-Line Method for State Space Exploration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present a state space exploration method for on-the-fly verification. The method is aimed at systems for which it is possible to define a measure of progress based on the states of the system. The measure of progress makes it possible to delete certain states on-the-fly during state space generation, since these states can never be reached again ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

State-space predictive control [PDF]

open access: yesModeling, Identification and Control, 1992
This paper deals with a predictive control strategy based on state-space models. Important issues concerning inherent model identification and optimal control computation are briefly discussed.

State Space Methods in RATS

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software, 2011
This paper uses several examples to show how the econometrics program RATS can be used to analyze state space models. It demonstrates Kalman filtering and smoothing, estimation of hyperparameters, unconditional and conditional simulation.

Maximal Good Step Graph Methods for Reducing the Generation of the State Space

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
This paper proposes an effective method based on the two main partial order techniques which are persistent sets and covering step graph techniques, to deal with the state explosion problem. First, we introduce a new definition of sound steps, the firing

Krylov space methods on state-space control models [PDF]

open access: yesCircuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 1994
Three variants of the Lanczos algorithm for generating Krylov sequences and three examples of linear control theory applications of those were given. The systems considered are linearized systems arising from physical models with up to thousand states.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
