Random-matrix approach to transition-state theory
To model a complex system intrinsically separated by a barrier, we use two random Hamiltonians, coupled to each other either by a tunneling matrix element or by an intermediate transition state. We study that model in the universal limit of large matrix dimension.

Empirical Transition Matrix of Multi-State Models: TheetmPackage [PDF]
Multi-State models provide a relevant framework for modelling complex event histories. Quantities of interest are the transition probabilities that can be estimated by the empirical transition matrix, that is also referred to as the Aalen-Johansen estimator.

Opportunistic Routing Aided Cooperative Communication MRC Network With Energy-Harvesting Nodes
In this research, we present a cooperative communication network based on two energy-harvesting (EH) decode-and-forward (DF) relays that contain the harvest-store-use (HSU) architecture and may harvest energy from the surrounding environment by utilizing

Discovery of effective infrequent sequences based on maximum probability path
Process discovery usually analyses frequent behaviour in event logs to gain an intuitive understanding of processes. However, there are some effective infrequent behaviours that help to improve business processes in real life.

Calculation of LTC Premiums based on direct estimates of transition probabilities [PDF]
In this paper we model the life-history of LTC patients using a Markovian multi-state model in order to calculate premiums for a given LTC-plan. Instead of estimating the transition intensities in this model we use the approach suggested by Andersen et ...

An Analytical Approach to Min-Time Control of Discrete-Time Linear Systems with Constrained Input [PDF]
Employing discrete-time techniques, the min-time control of continuous-time dynamical systems is mainly studied through an analytical framework. To this aim, the exact discrete-time model of the linear time-invariant systems is specified through a zero ...

Quantum phase transitions and matrix product states in spin ladders [PDF]
We investigate quantum phase transitions in ladders of spin 1/2 particles by engineering suitable matrix product states for these ladders. We take into account both discrete and continuous symmetries and provide general classes of such models. We also study the behavior of entanglement of different neighboring sites near the transition point and show ...
