Printed Integrated Logic Circuits Based on Chitosan‐Gated Organic Transistors for Future Edible Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Edible electronics needs integrated logic circuits for computation and control. This work presents a potentially edible printed chitosan‐gated transistor with a design optimized for integration in circuits. Its implementation in integrated logic gates and circuits operating at low voltage (0.7 V) is demonstrated, as well as the compatibility with an ...

A Social Pragmatic View on the Concept of Normative Consistency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The programmatic statement put forward in von Wright's last works on deontic logic introduces the perspective of logical pragmatics, which has been formally explicated here and extended so to include the role of norm-recipient as well as the role of norm-

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 43, 29 May 2026.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Integration of Low‐Voltage Nanoscale MoS2 Memristors on CMOS Microchips

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the first monolithic integration of nanoscale MoS2‐based memristors into the back‐end‐of‐line of foundry‐fabricated CMOS microchips in a one‐transistor‐one‐resistor (1T1R) architecture. The MoS2‐based 1T1R cells exhibit forming‐free, nonvolatile resistive switching with ultra‐low operating voltages, low cycle‐to‐cycle variability ...

Medical concepts related to individual risk are better explained with "plausibility" rather than "probability"

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2005
Background The concept of risk has pervaded medical literature in the last decades and has become a familiar topic, and the concept of probability, linked to binary logic approach, is commonly applied in epidemiology and clinical medicine.

Base-free Formulas in the Lattice-theoretic Study of Compacta [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The languages of finitary and infinitary logic over the alphabet of bounded lattices have proven to be of considerable use in the study of compacta. Significant among the sentences of these languages are the ones that are base free, those whose truth is ...

A New Threshold Switching Device With Tunable Negative Differential Resistance Based on ErMnO3 Polymorphs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymorph engineering in ErMnO3 enables low‐voltage, forming‐free threshold switching with tunable negative differential resistance. Conducting orthorhombic regions embedded in an insulating hexagonal matrix provide controlled Joule‐heating‐enhanced Poole–Frenkel transport. The hexagonal phase prevents excessive heating and breakdown.

Regiorandom Polythiophenes for Fully Stretchable Electrochemical Transistors and Logic Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Regiorandom (RRa) polythiophenes, once regarded as unsuitable for electronics, exhibit exceptional switching performance via volumetric electrochemical doping. Optimized RRa‐based organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) achieve a high on/off ratio (≈104), stable operation under 200% strain, and enable fully stretchable logic gates, demonstrating ...

Rechtsnormen und Logische Analysis: ein Briefwechsel - Was Kelsen tricked?

open access: yesJournal on European History of Law, 2023
The article aims to uncover the actual discussion that took place between Ulrich Klug and Norbert Wiener, a philosopher of law and a mathematician, on the question of whether it was possible for a machine to apply law using logic.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.
