A new pseudo-rigid-body model approach for modeling the quasi-static response of planar flexure-hinge mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yesMechanism and Machine Theory, 2018
© 2018 Elsevier Ltd In this paper a new pseudo-rigid-body model (PRBM) of flexure hinges used in planar flexure-hinge mechanisms with small deformations is presented.

Design and control methodology of a 3-DOF flexure-based mechanism for micro/nano-positioning [PDF]

open access: yesRobotics and Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, 2015
A 3-DOF (X–Y–θZ) planar flexure-based mechanism is designed and monolithically manufactured using Wire Electro-Discharge Machining (WEDM) technology. The compact flexure-based mechanism is directly driven by three piezoelectric actuators (PZTs) through ...

Flexure of Statically Indeterminate Cracked Beams

Journal of Engineering Mechanics, 1985
The influence of nonpropagating cracks on redistribution of internal forces in the flexure of statically indeterminate beams is studied by modeling crack as a rotational spring of known compliance, where the compliance is determined by using the relationship between the stress intensity factor for Mode I cracks and the compliance itself. The problem is

Static flexural behavior of bamboo as a functionally graded material and the effect of heat on dynamic flexural modulus

Journal of Building Engineering, 2021
Abstract The objective of the present investigation is to study the static and dynamic flexural behavior of bamboo as a functionally graded material to determine the Static Flexural Modulus (SFM) for untreated bamboo samples and to evaluate the effect of heat on the variation of the Dynamic Flexural Modulus (DFM).

On the flexural vibration frequencies of statically loaded beams

Meccanica, 1972

Dynamic and Static Flexural Appraisal of Resin-based Composites: Comparison of the ISO and Mini-flexural Tests

Operative Dentistry, 2018
SUMMARY The objective of this study was to determine the influence of specimen dimension and conditioning medium on the dynamic and static flexural properties of resin-based composites (RBCs). One conventional (Filtek Z350) and two bulk-fill RBCs (Filtek Bulk-fill and Beautifil-Bulk Restorative) were evaluated.

Static–Dynamic Relationship for Flexural Free Vibration of Extensible Beams

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2018
This technical note presents a static–dynamic relationship for the flexural free vibration analysis of beams in tension with some specific boundary conditions. It is shown to be possible that a free vibration system can be solved via a static analysis approach to determine the natural frequencies of the beam with tension forces.

Effect of In-Plane Forces on Static Flexure, Dynamics and Stability

2021
When a plate is subjected to in-plane forces, such forces have a stiffening or slackening effect on flexural behaviour and hence on the static deflections due to any applied transverse loading and also the flexural vibration frequencies.Further, a plate subjected to in-plane forces alone may become unstable in the flat configuration and undergo ...

Static and Impact Flexural Properties of Common Wire Nails

Journal of Testing and Evaluation, 1991
Abstract To implement yield theory into design specifications for engineered nailed connections, some practical estimates of nail yield strength and other properties are needed. This short-term study sampled 1170 nails in five sizes from four locations in the United States.
