An empirical analysis of percentage tax designation to the catholic church and other social entities in Spain

open access: yesAnnals of Public and Cooperative Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Since 2007, the Spanish State's contribution to funding the Catholic Church comes from what is known as the ‘tax allocation’ (asignación tributaria). It is a pure system of percentage tax designation consisting of 0.7% of the tax liability of taxpayers who decide to tick the relevant box on their personal income tax form.

Multimode pushover analysis of unbraced racking systems

open access: yes
Pushover analysis (incremental nonlinear static analysis) of structures has become increasingly popular due to its simplicity, being able to reproduce with reasonable precision the complex nonlinear dynamic behavior of buildings and other constructions ...

Research on Seismic Performance of a Two-Story, Two-Span Underground Subway Station with Split Columns Based on the Quasi-Static Method

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The behavior of center columns in shallow-buried underground subway station structures resembles that of high-rise buildings. In both cases, these columns experience significant vertical loads during earthquake events and are susceptible to brittle ...

“Shifting the Culture and the Way That We Practice”: Perinatal Clinicians' Cognitive, Behavioral, and Team‐Level Changes Following Equity‐Focused Interventions

open access: yesBirth, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction In recent years, US hospitals have implemented novel interventions to reduce racism, bias, and their effects in perinatal healthcare (e.g., implicit bias training, anti‐racism seminars). Healthcare workers may also encounter informal interventions in support of these goals (e.g., peer feedback on microaggressions). There is little

Seismic assessment of existing RC buildings before and after shear-wall retrofitting

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2018
The existing reinforced concrete (RC) buildings are analysed in the paper before and after shear-wall retrofitting. For numerical application, an existing RC building was selected and retrofitted with shear walls.

Pushover Analysis Of R/C Setback Bulding Frames [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The behaviour of a multi-storey framed building during strong earthquake motions depends on the distribution of mass, stiffness, and strength in both the horizontal and vertical planes of the building.

Bidirectional pushover analysis of irregular structures

open access: yes, 2013
Pushover analysis is one of the most-used nonlinear static procedures for the seismic assessment of structures; therefore, nowadays it is extensively used by practicing engineers for the seismic analysis of virtually every type of building.

Disentangling the Relationship Between Mindfulness and Creativity: The Role of Conceptual and Experimental Creative Methods

open access: yesCreativity and Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prior research has indicated that mindfulness has the potential to enhance individuals' functioning in many ways. However, explorations of its relationship with creativity have elicited contrasting results that remain unresolved, and the underlying processes of this relationship remain unclear.

Input Visualizations to Track Health Data by Older Adults with Multiple Chronic Conditions

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Older adults living with multiple chronic conditions (MCC) can considerably benefit from collecting and reflecting on their health data. Many older adults collect their health data using various approaches, such as digital tools or handwritten notebooks.

Seismic Assessment of Existing Masonry Buildings Using Damage Mechanics

open access: yesBuildings
This paper presents research concerning the numerical simulation of existing masonry buildings when subjected to pushover analysis. A nonlinear static analysis is undertaken using the commercial software ABAQUS standard, in which masonry structures are ...
