Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Scheduling Design and Instantaneity Analysis of Time-triggered AFDX [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2016
According to the characteristics of Time-triggered Avionics Full Duplex Switched Ethernet(TTAFDX),this paper proposes a scheduling strategy based on frame-length priority to solve the scheduling problem of Time-triggered Virtual Link(TTVL).It builds a ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

A Dynamic Scheduling Method of Earth-Observing Satellites by Employing Rolling Horizon Strategy

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
Focused on the dynamic scheduling problem for earth-observing satellites (EOS), an integer programming model is constructed after analyzing the main constraints. The rolling horizon (RH) strategy is proposed according to the independent arriving time and

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

A study in grid simulation and scheduling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Grid computing is emerging as an essential tool for large scale analysis and problem solving in scientific and business domains. Whilst the idea of stealing unused processor cycles is as old as the Internet, we are still far from reaching a position ...

A light-weight statically scheduled network-on-chip [PDF]

open access: yesNORCHIP 2012, 2012
This paper investigates how a light-weight, statically scheduled network-on-chip (NoC) for real-time systems can be designed and implemented. The NoC provides communication channels between all cores with equal bandwidth and latency. The design is FPGA-friendly and consumes a minimum of resources.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
