Static Stability of a Pipeline
Technical Physics, 2020Based on the assumption of the initial deformed shape of the pipeline without initial stresses, the critical compression force is determined. The pipeline was under the influence of internal and external pressures, compressive forces. A fluid with a given density flowed through the pipeline.

Trulli are remarkable examples of corbelled masonry structures commonly located in Apulia, Italy. This paper focuses on their statics. Trulli domes transfer loads in paths that follows meridians and parallels: idealization of the dome as a system of independent arches is not admissible.

Static output feedback stabilization with prescribed degree of stability
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1998Summary: The problem of finding a static output feedback matrix is restated. The new formulation replaces the solution to set of inversely coupled Lyapunov inequalities with the simultaneous solution to an algebraic Riccati inequality and a Lyapunov inequality. An algorithm is developed based on the restated problem.

Static stability in games [PDF]
Static stability of equilibrium in strategic games differs from dynamic stability in not being linked to any particular dynamical system. In other words, it does not make any assumptions about off-equilibrium behavior. Examples of static notions of stability include evolutionarily stable strategy (ESS) and continuously stable strategy (CSS), both of ...

Recovery of static stability following a concussion
Gait & Posture, 2014The purpose of this study was to use centre of pressure (COP) measurements to determine if static balance deficits had recovered when concussed athletes were cleared to return to play. Nine concussed varsity football players were matched with nine teammates who served as controls.

Stability analysis of static Poisson networks
2015 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2015The stable packet arrival rate region of the discrete-time slotted ALOHA network with the sources distributed as a static Poisson point process is investigated here. The problem is a generalization and extension of interacting queues problem, in which the physical layer is abstracted. Employing tools from queueing theory as well as point process theory,

For most aircraft, longitudinal dynamic stability is assured if the static margin is positive. However, a statically stable aircraft is not necessarily dynamically stable. The problem of establishing under what conditions static stability is sufficient has recently been considered in Ref. I, by means of two-parameter stability diagrams. It seems to the

Stabilization via static output feedback
IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 1993Summary: Necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a stabilizing static output feedback gain matrix are presented. It is shown that any such a gain matrix is the solution of some linear quadratic control problem where the cost functional has a suitable cross term.
