Hyper-Damping Behavior of Stiff and Stable Oscillators with Embedded Statically Unstable Stiffness Elements

International Journal of Structural Stability and Dynamics, 2017
A novel concept of a nonlinear oscillator is proposed, based on a bistable element, which operates around an unstable equilibrium point. Contrary to the Quasi-Zero Stiffness oscillators, a totally different redistribution of the stiffness elements is followed, so that any level required static stiffness for the entire system can be maintained.

Testing Technology of Torsional Vibration Spring Static Stiffness

2008
The principle and method of testing static stiffness of torsional vibration spring are put forward based on the structure of dual-mass flywheel with torsional vibration spring, and the test bench is designed for these. The testing data is collected by using the PXI-6259 data collection card of National instrument and the data is processed by the ...

High-Static-Low-Dynamic Stiffness Isolation with Asymmetric Stiffness Structure

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics
An asymmetric stiffness structure, comprising a permanent magnet (PM) and an electromagnetic coil (EC), has been designed to create a vibration isolator with high-static-low-dynamic stiffness (HSLDS). The mathematical model of the system is established using the molecular current method and is compared with simulation results. Additionally, a nonlinear

Static Stiffness Analysis of a Novel Parallel Manipulator

Key Engineering Materials, 2012
One novel 6-DOF parallel manipulator with hooke hinges is presented to provide precision positioning in this paper. The geometric parameters and spatial architecture of kinematic pairs will influence the system stiffness directly, which impact indirectly the characteristics such as supporting capacity, driving burden and so on. The elastic model of the

Models for Determining the Static Stiffness of Collet Sleeves

2014
The most versatile general purpose clamping device is collet chuck. Most of collet chucks use solid thin slotted clamping sleeves made of a hardened steel and ground to a high degree of accuracy on both internal and external surfaces. This paper first presents a straightforward analytical model to determinate the static stiffness of collet sleeves ...

Research on Static Stiffness Test System for BIW

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014
Body static stiffness is an important index to evaluate the vehicle performance, and test is a main evaluation method for the static stiffness. Accordance with the existed problem of static stiffness measurement, we developed a bending and torsion stiffness measurement system.

The Increase of the Dynamic and Static Stiffness of a Grinding Machine

Volume 2: 30th Annual Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2006
The dynamic stiffness of a grinding machine influences the process stability enormously. Among other things the stability of the grinding process is affected by influences like the specification of the grinding wheel, the condition of the workpiece and machine parameters.

Static stiffness of curcular saw blades

2017
The article outlines the technique of strain estimating of a band saw blade. The quality of processing depends on the strain character of a band saw rim, improved quality of processing being provided by the saws where the rim is not displaced in opposite directions over the saw perimeter under axial loading.

Static and dynamic stiffness of reinforced concrete beams

Archives of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, 2012
Abstract In this paper experimental studies of reinforced concrete beams are reported. The influence of load on deflections and basic eigenfrequency was investigated. Eigenfrequencies were registered using the operational modal analysis. Static stiffness (on the basis of deflections) and dynamic stiffness (on the basis of eigenfrequencies) were ...
