Static Synchronous Compensator (Statcom) for Dynamic Reactive-Compensation of Wind Turbines
Wind Engineering, 2006This paper reviews the common control characteristics of a Statcom and presents the control strategies which may be applied for compensation of large wind farms. The Statcom's control and protection are modelled with the simulation tool Powerfactory (DigSilent).

Enhancement of Power System Transmission Using Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM)
2019 IEEE PES/IAS PowerAfrica, 2019Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) recently has proved to be economical with high efficiency in stabilizing electrical power and voltage of power systems without investing on establishing new network. However FACTS performance depends largely on it’s optimal location in the network.

STATCOM-STATic synchronous COMpensator: theory, modeling, and applications
IEEE Power Engineering Society. 1999 Winter Meeting (Cat. No.99CH36233), 1999This paper describes the theory and the modeling technique of a flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) device, namely, the static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) using the EMTP simulation package. The STATCOM, a solid-state voltage source inverter coupled with a transformer, is tied to a transmission line.

Damping improvement of power system using shunt static synchronous compensator STATCOM /
2020Thesis (Master of Engineering)--University of South Australia, 2020. Includes bibliographical references (pages 50-53) In the modern day, the efficiency of power systems is considered to be one of the most important aspects. As the grid expands and more components are included, the chances of faults occurring in a power system is higher compared to the
