Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) with low harmonic inverter. [PDF]
Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) is one of the two converters of the Unified Power Flow Controller (UPFC). It provides the main function of UPFC in controlling the amount and direction of power flow in the transmission lines by varying the ...

This paper proposes an integrated model for fault detection, classification, and location in power transmission systems using voltage signals from a single terminal of a series‐compensated line. Simulations show the model achieves 100% accuracy for fault detection, classification and faulty segment identification, and 99.79% accuracy for fault location

Power System Voltage Stability Assessment and Control Strategies: State‐of‐the‐Art Review
Voltage stability is crucial for power systems, ensuring that electrical grids maintain voltages within acceptable limits with increasing demand, renewable energy integration, and changing network topology. This paper reviews the voltage stability phenomena, voltage stability indices (VSIs) (line and bus), and offline/online voltage stability ...

This paper deals with Five-Level Flying Capacitor Multilevel Inverter (FCMLI) based Static Synchronous Series Compensator (SSSC) as used for the series compensation of transmission line. Here, voltage is injected in series with the transmission line. It is preferred to other compensating devices because apart from controlling the active and reactive ...

Integrate renewable energy system (RES) into grid‐connected load system in enhancing reliability and reducing losses. However, integrating these systems introduce power quality (PQ) issues, especially with non‐linear, critical, and imbalanced loads. Addressing this, a hybrid mantis search‐reptile search algorithm combined with a unified power quality ...

A new stair‐band hysteresis current control with constant switching frequency for UPFC application
An adaptive stair‐band for the hysteresis current controller to maintain a constant switching frequency is proposed. Its advantage is that it enables fast system response while keeping the frequency constant and good stability of the UPFC on which it has been applied.
