An influence of static load on fatigue life of parts under combined stress [PDF]
The paper deals with a special case of multiaxial fatigue in a plain stress possessing one component static and the other dynamic. Exponents of Haigs' limit curves were obtained experimentally both for tensile fatigue test and combined tensile/torgue ...

Mechanical state assessment using lamb wave technique in static tensile tests
The paper deals with the investigation of Lamb wave ultrasonic technique for damage (or mechanical state) evaluation of AA7068T3 specimens in the course of tensile testing. Two piezoelectric transducers (PZT), one of which is used as an actuator and the other as sensor, were adhesively bonded on the specimen surface using epoxy.

This study demonstrates a novel noninvasive strategy to treat in‐stent restenosis using focused ultrasound. A shape memory alloy stent initially expands at body temperature. If restenosis occurs, targeted ultrasound heating thermally actuates the stent, enabling a secondary expansion to reopen the blocked vessel, offering a potential alternative to ...

Iron‐based metallic glass alloys exhibit excellent soft‐magnetic properties, and unprecedented geometrical freedom in the design of soft‐magnetic metallic glass components is made possible by additive manufacturing. An efficient workflow for developing parameters for laser‐based powder bed fusion of a Fe‐based metallic glass alloy is presented along ...
