Definition of the linearity loss of the surface temperature in static tensile tests

open access: yesFrattura ed Integrità Strutturale, 2014
Static traction tests on material samples for mechanical constructions have pointed out the loss of linearity of the specimen surface temperature with the applied load. This phenomenon is due to the heat generation caused by the local microplasticizations which carry the material to deviate from its behavior, perfectly thermoelastic. The identification

Phenomenological and Physically Based Modeling of Flow Stress and Strengthening Mechanism of Inconel 718

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nickel‐based alloys are widely used in high‐temperature applications due to their excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance. However, properties such as high‐temperature strength and pronounced work‐hardening make them difficult to machine.

Effect of dowel wood species on dowel tensile strength in wooden length joints bonded with different adhesives

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Forestry, 2019
In this study, dowel tensile strength values of wooden length joints prepared using dowels obtained from ash (Fraxinus excelsior Lipsky), chestnut (Castanea sativa Mill.) and oak (Quercus petraea Lieble) were investigated.

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.
