Sub- and Super-Synchronous Interaction Caused by Static Var Compensators in a Weak AC Grid Aanlysis and Oscillation Suppression [PDF]

open access: yesDianli jianshe
[Objective] With the increase in the proportion of new energy connected to the grid, issues with power system stability associated with weak grids are becoming increasingly prominent.

Gravity‐Dependent Modulation of Downbeat Nystagmus: Insights From Velocity‐Storage Dysfunction

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Downbeat nystagmus varies with head position, a phenomenon termed gravity‐dependent modulation. We aimed to clarify its mechanism using a velocity‐storage model. Methods In 10 patients with downbeat nystagmus due to cerebellar disorders, we recorded eye movements at different pitch‐ and roll‐axis head positions.

Voltage and current unbalance compensation using a static var compensator

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2010
A three-phase insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)-based static var compensator (STATCOM) is used for voltage and/or current unbalance compensation. An instantaneous power theory is adopted for real-time calculation and control. Three control schemes - current control, voltage control and integrated control - are proposed to compensate the ...

COVID‐19 Vaccination Is Not Associated With the Development of Idiopathic Inflammatory Myositis in US Veterans

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Several case reports have proposed a potential association between COVID‐19 vaccination and the subsequent development of idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM). This study examined prior COVID‐19 vaccination in US veterans who developed new‐onset IIM compared to those without new‐onset IIM.

Does Long‐Term Lower Extremity Strength Training in Adults With Knee Osteoarthritis and Varus Alignment Reduce Knee Joint Loading During Gait?

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We examined whether 18 months of strength training in individuals with knee varus alignment and medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) reduced knee joint loads during walking compared to an attention control group. Methods This study was a secondary analysis of a randomized clinical trial that compared the effects of strength training to a ...

Proposal Technique for an Static Var Compensator

open access: yesIOSR Journal of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, 2013
This paper deals with the preliminary design of an SVC, which is the most important part of the design process, because any specific error in the preliminary design and specifications in requirements documents may end up with great amount of money, labour and time loss.

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.
