Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.

A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

A Wireless, Battery‐Free Artificial Throat Patch with Deep Learning for Emotional Speech Recognition
In this work, Xu and co‐workers develop a wireless, battery‐free artificial throat patch system (ATPS) consisting of a carbon nanotube‐based thin‐film strain sensor and a miniaturized flexible printed circuit board, to enable real‐time sensing of throat signals.

Investigating pupillometry to detect preoperative anxiety: a pilot study
Guidelines from the European Society of Anesthesia (ESA) insist on the importance of preoperative anxiety management. However, its assessment currently relies on questionnaires that are long to submit and sometimes difficult to interpret.

Respiratory‐Limbic Coupling via a Thalamic Circuit Alleviates Anxiety
This study delineates a conserved preBötCGlu→PVT→CeA circuit that gates anxiety and respiration. Activation of this circuit is anxiolytic and respiratory‐stabilizing, while its inhibition has the opposite effect. Mechanistically, PVT exerts its anxiolytic action via a disinhibitory microcircuit: its inputs preferentially target CeL GABAergic neurons ...

Adaptation and Validation of the Mind-Wandering Questionnaire (MWQ) in Physical Education Classes and Analysis of Its Role as Mediator between Teacher and Anxiety [PDF]
Physical education (PE) classes are one of the primary means of adopting healthy lifestyles and contribute greatly to personal well-being. However, it is necessary that students pay attention and do not enter a mind-wandering state as this can be ...

Contextual fear conditioning induces BNIP3L‐dependent mitochondrial fission in glutamatergic neurons of the BLA, independently of mitophagy. Loss of BNIP3L elevates Drp1Ser637 phosphorylation, thereby suppressing mitochondrial fission, compromising ATP production, and attenuating excitatory synaptic transmission.
