Studentized robust statistics in multivariate randomized block design

Journal of Nonparametric Statistics, 1998
Multiresponse experiments in randomized block design are considered. Statistical procedures of the test and estimation, based on studentized robust statistics, for location parameters in the models are proposed. Large sample properties of their procedures as the number of blocks tends to infinity are investigated.

Some Simple Statistics to Test Against Ordered Alternatives in Complete Block Designs

Biometrical Journal, 1984
AbstractConsider testing the hypothesis of no treatment effects against a postulated ranking of the m treatments, given data from n Complete Blocks. A suitable test statistic is the weighted average rank correlation w = σbQiCi where Ci is the correlation between the postulated ranking and the ranking observed within the ith block, Qi is the rank of the

A Comparison among Combination-Based Permutation Statistics for Randomized Complete Block Design

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 2012
It is well known that a best permutation test for all population distributions P does not generally exist, because the most powerful unbiased permutation test is a function of the population distribution P which is assumed to be unknown (Pesarin and Salmaso, 2010).

Statistical foundations of person parameter estimation in the Thurstonian IRT model for forced-choice and pairwise comparison designs.

British Journal of Mathematical & Statistical Psychology
The statistical foundations of person parameter estimation for the multivariate Thurstonian item response theory (TIRT) model of pairwise comparison and forced-choice (FC) ranking data are elaborated, and several misconceptions in IRT and TIRT are ...

Design and statistical analysis of a new chaos block cipher for WSN

2010 IEEE International Conference on Information Theory and Information Security, 2010
In this paper, a chaotic block cipher based on chaos box is proposed for WSN. First, the pors and cons of WSN existing encryption algorithm is analysed. Then, a new encryption algorithm for WSN is introduced. Finally, conclusion is made by comparing with RC5 and RC6 at statistical performance. Data shows this encryption scheme has good performance.

Steady‐state statistical properties and implementation of randomization designs with maximum tolerated imbalance restriction for two‐arm equal allocation clinical trials

Statistics in Medicine
In recent decades, several randomization designs have been proposed in the literature as better alternatives to the traditional permuted block design (PBD), providing higher allocation randomness under the same restriction of the maximum tolerated ...

23. Statistical characteristics of event related and block design datasets

Clinical Neurophysiology, 2014
Introduction In this work we characterize functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data from event related and block design studies with typical values of several parameters. We use signal to noise ratio (SNR), percent signal change (PSC) and statistical parametric maps, estimated by SPM8 toolbox (beta, con and t-statistic maps).

Benefits of statistical blocking techniques in the design of gear evaluation trials: introducing the Latin Square design

Fisheries Research, 2000
Abstract We evaluated the use of a Latin Square design for assessing the performance of bycatch reduction devices (BRDs). We wanted to ensure the most precise result possible given limited resources, high variability and the need to detect small differences.

Minimal sufficient statistics for incomplete block designs with interaction under an Eisenhart model III

Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference, 1988
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to derive minimal sufficient statistics for the balanced incomplete block design and the group divisible partially balanced incomplete block design when the Eisenhart Model III (mixed model) is assumed. The results are identical to Hultquist and Graybill's (1965) and Hirotsu's (1965) for the same model without ...
