Advanced statistical energy analysis
Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. Series A: Physical and Engineering Sciences, 1994Abstract A high-frequency theory (advanced statistical energy analysis (ASEA)) is developed which takes account of the mechanism of tunnelling and uses a ray theory approach to track the power flowing around a plate or a beam network and then uses statistical energy analysis (sea) to take care of any residual power.

A Statistical Mechanical Analysis of Energy and Entropy
The Chemical Educator, 2003In this paper, we propose a dry laboratory suitable for the undergraduate student to bridge together concepts developed in two semesters of physical chemistry using statistical mechanics. Macroscopic properties such as energy and entropy of simple gaseous systems are studied as a function of temperature and related to the microscopic constitution of ...

Asymptotic Modal Analysis and Statistical Energy Analysis of Dynamical Systems
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1985A new derivation of the results commonly referred to as Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA) is given by studying the asymptotic behavior of classical modal analysis for a general, linear (structural) system. It is shown that, asymptotically, the response at (almost) all points of the system is the same.

Statistical energy analysis of periodic structures
Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. A. Mathematical and Physical Sciences, 1989Abstract Methods evolved from the study of wave propagation through geometrically periodic media are used to enhance the probabilistic models used in statistical energy analysis (SEA). These enhanced models are based on calculations of the pass bands of typical elements of periodic structures and allow SEA to reflect the highly non ...

Energy Savings: a statistical analysis
2015The technical document reports the statistical analysis performed on the experimental data acquired during the demontration & validation campaign of Melt.Brain on the end-user melting furnaces. The statistical analysis also on historical data highlighted the results of the demonstration activity, as well as the possible further extension of the ...

Visualization of statistical energy analysis results
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994Statistical energy analysis (SEA) is a tool for estimating the response of complex dynamic systems at high modal density. SEA is seeing ever wider application in a range of industries. It is used in the aerospace industry for launch vehicles, commercial, light aircraft, and helicopters.

Statistical energy analysis of offshore structures
Engineering Structures, 1994Abstract This paper briefly introduces the concepts of statistical energy analysis (SEA) and then discusses the potential for using the approach in the design of offshore marine structures. Some inherent limitations in the method as currently applied, mainly in the field of aerospace structures, are indicated and suggestions made as to areas where ...

Some elements in statistical energy analysis
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1977Abstract It is analytically convenient to model a complex dynamic system in terms of a set of basic dynamic systems. Often it is difficult to formulate the behavior of the complex in detail. The difficulty arises not only in consequence of the cumbersomeness of the formalism but, also, in consequence of inherent lack of knowledge of how to describe ...

Statistical energy analysis and structural fuzzy
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1995The concepts and derivations of the effects of a minor or secondary structure on the dynamics of a well defined major or primary structure have been recently presented as a ‘‘fuzzy structure’’ interacting with a deterministic one. On the face of it, this appears like a ‘‘halfway’’ SEA system in that one of the two systems is well defined while the ...
