ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Bisphenol A (BPA), a common chemical in plastics, exerts dual effects on bladder cancer cells: low doses promote growth and migration, while high doses suppress growth and migration. Multi‐omics and bioinformatics reveal BPA acts via MAPK and inflammatory pathways.

Statistical Inference of Minimum Rank Factor Analysis
Psychometrika, 2002For any given number of factors, Minimum Rank Factor Analysis yields optimal communalities for an observed covariance matrix in the sense that the unexplained common variance with that number of factors is minimized, subject to the constraint that both the diagonal matrix of unique variances and the observed covariance matrix minus that diagonal matrix

Statistical analysis of nonlinear factor analysis models
British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 1999This paper presents a Bayesian analysis of a general nonlinear factor analysis model. Both the non‐informative and conjugate prior distributions are considered. A hybrid algorithm that combines the Metropolis‐Hastings algorithm and the Gibbs sampler is implemented to produce direct estimates of the latent factor scores and the structural parameters ...

On the Statistical Treatment of Residuals in Factor Analysis
Psychometrika, 1962A method for estimation in factor analysis is presented. The method is based on the assumption that the residual (specific and error) variances are proportional to the reciprocal values of the diagonal elements of the inverted covariance (correlation) matrix. The estimation is performed by a modification of Whittle's least squares technique. The method

Assessment of the Controlling Factors in Turbo Flotation by Statistical Analysis
Coal Preparation, 2000TurboFlotation is a new flotation system that has the advantage of large throughput per unit volume and low fluid inventory. The influence of process and design parameters on the performance of the TurboFlotation system as applied to coal flotation has been studied and statistical models developed to predict the performance of the system under various ...

A statistical analysis of factors related to symptomatic cerebral vasospasm
Acta Neurochirurgica, 1994A retrospective review of patients presenting to our institution with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage between 1980-1990 was accomplished. Eleven variables were examined as to their relationship to clinical vasospasm: age, sex, clinical grade, amount of subarachnoid blood on CT, aneurysm location, incidence of vasospasm, incidence of complications ...
