Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Machine learning algorithms for diabetic kidney disease risk predictive model of Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus

open access: yesRenal Failure
Background Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) is a common and serious complication of diabetic mellitus (DM). More sensitive methods for early DKD prediction are urgently needed.

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Mapping 3D printed part density and filament flow characteristics in the material extrusion (MEX) process for filled and unfilled polymers

open access: yesVirtual and Physical Prototyping
Material extrusion (MEX) 3D printing offers a promising avenue for fabricating metal and ceramic components, where highly loaded polymer filaments are 3D-printed and sintered.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Fog, Friction, and Failure in Organized Conflict: A Formal Study

open access: yesAxioms
Organized conflict, while confined by the laws of physics—and, under profound strategic incompetence, by the Lanchester equations—is not a physical process but rather an extended exchange between cognitive entities that have been shaped by path-dependent
