A reformulation of mechanics and electrodynamics

open access: yesHeliyon, 2017
Classical mechanics, as commonly taught in engineering and science, are confined to the conventional Newtonian theory. But classical mechanics has not really changed in substance since Newton formulation, describing simultaneous rotation and translation ...

Group chasing tactics: how to catch a faster prey

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2017
We propose a bio-inspired, agent-based approach to describe the natural phenomenon of group chasing in both two and three dimensions. Using a set of local interaction rules we created a continuous-space and discrete-time model with time delay, external ...

Enhanced tensor non-Gaussianities in presence of a source

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We address the possibility of having an enhanced signal for tensor non-Gaussianities in presence of a source, as a signature of Primordial Gravitational Waves.

Inflation, (p)reheating and neutrino anomalies: production of sterile neutrinos with secret interactions

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
A number of experimental anomalies involving neutrinos hint towards the existence of at least an extra (a very light) sterile neutrino. However, such a species, appreciably mixing with the active neutrinos, is disfavored by different cosmological ...

A Physicist’s View on Partial 3D Shape Matching

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2023
A new algorithm is presented to compute nonrigid, possibly partial comparisons of shapes defined by unstructured triangulations of their surfaces.

Intraoperative Collection of Ascitic Fluid With Intra‐ or Postoperative Reinfusion in Ovarian Cancer: Safety and Feasibility of a Roller Pumping Method

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients with ovarian cancer often present with massive ascites, leading to significant protein loss during surgical procedures. Although cell‐free concentrated ascites reinfusion therapy (CART) is used in palliative settings to mitigate protein loss, its application in intraoperative settings remains unexplored.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Combined statistical physics models and DFT theory to study the adsorption process of paprika dye On TiO2 for dye sensitized solar cells

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2020
This study reported the combination of advanced statistical physics modeling and density functional theory (DFT) investigation for the interpretation of the adsorption of Paprika dye on TiO2 surface for dye sensitized solar cells.

Interplay between hopping dimerization and quasi-periodicity on flux-driven circular current in an incommensurate Su–Schrieffer–Heeger ring

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
We report for the first time the phenomenon of flux-driven circular current in an isolated Su–Schrieffer–Heeger (SSH) quantum ring in presence of cosine modulation in the form of the Aubry–André–Harper (AAH) model.
