Generalized Differential Transmission for STBC Systems

IEEE GLOBECOM 2008 - 2008 IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2008
Recent research has shown that differential transmission (DT) can be applied to STBC systems so that the receiver does not need channel state information (CSI) when compared to coherent detector. In this paper, we propose a generalized DT (GDT) scheme, which has a frame structure consisting of two parts, reference-block part and normal-block part.

On the robustness of algebraic STBCs to coefficient quantization

2012 Australian Communications Theory Workshop (AusCTW), 2012
In this paper, we study the robustness of high-rate algebraic space-time block codes (STBCs) to coefficient quantization (CQ) at the transmitter in 2 × 2 MIMO fading channels. In particular, we investigate the impact of CQ on the bit error rates of the Golden code and the Silver code with M-QAM constellations. We assume infinite-precision operations at

Low Complexity Decoding of BICM STBC

2005 IEEE 61st Vehicular Technology Conference, 2005
It was shown earlier that the combination of bit interleaved coded modulation (BICM) with space time block codes (STBC) for OFDM systems leads to the maximum diversity order in space and frequency. In this paper we present low complexity decoding of BICM-STBC systems.

An Efficient Selective Receiver for STBC Scheme

2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007
In this paper, we propose an efficient selective receiver for space-time block coding (STBC) scheme. In this proposed scheme, we divide the received signals into two groups. By this way, we can almost eliminate the interference from the neighboring signals in the same symbol almost by half.

Joint optimization of polar codes and STBCs

2017 IEEE 28th Annual International Symposium on Personal, Indoor, and Mobile Radio Communications (PIMRC), 2017
Space-time block codes (STBCs) have been designed and used to achieve the diversity and multiplexing gains in multiple antenna systems. STBCs have been typically designed based on rank and determinant criteria which can provide good performance at high signal-tonoise ratios (SNRs).

The concatenation scheme MLC-STBC combining MLC and STBC over Rayleigh fading channels

2001 MILCOM Proceedings Communications for Network-Centric Operations: Creating the Information Force (Cat. No.01CH37277), 2002
The concatenation scheme MLC-STBC combining multilevel codes (MLC) and space-time block codes (STBC) is proposed over Rayleigh fading channels. Through performance analysis and computer simulation, the asymptotic behavior of the new system is provided, which is proportional to the product of the space diversity and the minimum Hamming distance of the ...

Generalized distributive law for ML decoding of STBCs

2011 IEEE Information Theory Workshop, 2011
The Generalized Distributive Law (GDL) is a message passing algorithm which can efficiently solve a certain class of computational problems, and includes as special cases the Viterbi's algorithm, the BCJR algorithm, the Fast-Fourier Transform, Turbo and LDPC decoding algorithms.

A Novel STBC Scheme in MIMO CDMA System

2007 IEEE Workshop on Signal Processing Systems, 2007
A novel STBC scheme in MIMO CDMA system is presented. In the proposed scheme, the input symbols are split in blocks, each block has M symbols (M is the number of transmitting antennas), the M symbols are circularly encoded into M groups (each group has M cyclic symbols), the encoded M × M symbols are transmitted in Msymbol durations through Mantennas ...

Research on the Theory and Schemes of the STBC

2011 International Conference on Internet Technology and Applications, 2011
This paper introduces the famous transmit diversity antenna scheme called Alamouli at first. And then, it considers the theory of the Space Time Block Code (STBC) and compares several different methods about the STBC decoding scheme. At last, simulations are used to examine the accuracy of the STBC coding and decoding schemes.

A complete family of good quasi-orthogonal STBC and a new family of orthogonal STBC for four transmit antennas

International Symposium onInformation Theory, 2004. ISIT 2004. Proceedings., 2004
A method is proposed to find a complete family of good QOSTBC designs for four transmit antennas that can be decoded pairwisely and are robust over highly correlated channels (HCC) and in which each symbol is seen through each channel only once. Based on the good QOSTBC thus found, a new family of rate 3/4 orthogonal STBC is designed with a diversity ...
