Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Analysis of steady‐state operation of active distribution network under uncertain conditions

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution
Recently, distributed generators (DGs) have been widely integrated into distribution network, so that the distribution network is gradually transforming into an active distribution network (ADN).

Periodic Optimal Control, Dissipativity and MPC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recent research has established the importance of (strict) dissipativity for proving stability of economic MPC in the case of an optimal steady state. In many cases, though, steady-state operation is not economically optimal and periodic operation of the

Improved model predictive current control for multi‐mode four‐switch buck–boost converter considering parameter mismatch

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2023
Four‐switch Buck‐Boost (FSBB) converter usually adopts multi‐mode control methods in applications requiring both voltage step‐up and step‐down. Model predictive current control (MPCC) can improve the dynamic performance and simplify multi‐mode switching ...

Analytical modelling of Breathing Walls: experimental verification by means of the Dual Air Vented Thermal Box lab facility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Breathing Walls are air permeable envelope components based on porous materials. In contra-flux operation air flows opposite to conductive flux, while in pro-flux they have the same direction.
