Steady-state forced vibrations [PDF]
The following concepts are defined: (i) periodic functions possessing an amplitude, (ii) cosine-like functions, (iii) steady-state forced vibrations. The following theorems are proved: I. If, in $\ddot{x} + f(x) = P g(t) P g(t + T)$, $x(0) = X \neq 0$, $0 < P < \infty$, $-\infty < t < + \infty$, $g(t)$ is cosine-like, a necessary condition for the ...

The effect of working parameters upon elastohydrodynamic film thickness under periodic load variation [PDF]
There are a number of widely used machine components, such as rolling element bearings, gears and cams, which operate in the lubrication regime known as Elastohydrodynamics (EHD), where lubricant film thickness is governed by hydrodynamic action of ...

Fundamental solutions in the full coupled theory of elasticity for solid with double porosity
This paper discusses the full coupled linear theory of elasticity for solids with double porosity. The system of the governing equations is based on the equations of motion, conservation of fluid mass, the constitutive equations and Darcy’s law for ...

A coarse grained model of granular compaction and relaxation [PDF]
We introduce a theoretical model for the compaction of granular materials by discrete vibrations which is expected to hold when the intensity of vibration is low.

Nonequilibrium Steady State in Vibrating Granular Gases [PDF]
Statistical properties of nonequilibrium steady states in vibrating granular gases in an slightly tilted container are investigated in terms of the discrete-element method. It is found that the steady behavior of this granular flow is difficult to be described by the steady Fokker-Planck equation with Coulomb friction.

Potential method in the theory of thermoelasticity for materials with triple voids
In the present paper the linear theory of thermoelasticity for isotropic and homogeneous solids with macro-, meso- and microporosity is considered. In this theory the independent variables are the displacement vector field, the changes of the volume ...
