On the Performance Characteristics of Steam Ejectors

open access: yesTransactions of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, 1960
Steam ejectors can have three basic kinds of performance characteristics according to the outside conditions of ejector-driving steam pressure, back pressure of diffuser and flow rate of entrained fluid. From the experimental studies on the flow state in ejectors, it has been shown that the three performance characteristics are closely connected with ...

Neurokinin‐1 receptor activation protects against cardiac fibrosis, inflammation and diastolic dysfunction in type 2 diabetic mice

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 15, Page 4246-4266, August 2026.
Background and Purpose The pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM)‐induced cardiomyopathy involves cardiac fibrosis that leads to diastolic dysfunction. We established that replacement of lost substance P (SP) that occurs in T2DM reduces cardiac fibrosis and decreases inflammation in T2DM mice and non‐human primates.

Matching Heat Pump Configurations and Process Parameters for Cost‐Minimal Heat‐Integrated CO2 Capturing Process

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 98, Issue 7, Page 429-436, July 2026.
In a CO2 absorption process, it is investigated whether the adjustment of operating parameters facilitates the integration of different closed heat pump cycles considering various refrigerants. The influence of different integration concepts and electricity prices are investigated by means of resulting total annual costs.

The Influence of Topography and Crustal Magnetic Anomalies on the Distribution of Water Ice in the Lunar South Pole Region

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Lunar magnetic anomalies are abundant near the south pole, where several moderate‐strength anomalies spatially overlap permanently shadowed regions (PSRs). This environment provides a unique setting to assess how crustal magnetic fields and topography regulate plasma–surface interactions and, in turn, the stability and distribution of surface ...

Stratigraphy Preserved on the Jezero Crater Rim Reveals Repeated Impacts on Early Mars

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract The outer slopes of the western Jezero crater rim are hypothesized to expose sections of Early‐ to Pre‐Noachian crust uplifted by the Jezero impact, providing an excellent opportunity to investigate the earliest geologic processes active on terrestrial planets.

Numerical investigation on performance optimization of steam ejector considering full geometric parameters and working conditions

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering
As an energy-saving device for energy transduction, a steam ejector has been crucial in energy saving and emission reduction, energy consumption reduction, and energy reuse.

The Gender of Fossil Fuels: Oil and Domestic Perils in Mandate Palestine

open access: yesGender &History, Volume 38, Issue 2, Page 611-625, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This article explores the gender dynamics behind the rise of kerosene – an oil derivative – as the main domestic fuel in Mandate Palestine. It argues that these dynamics were constitutive in determining who began to use oil, where and for what purposes, in turn demonstrating that women in Palestine were the promoters and targets of a campaign ...

Analysis of Supersonic Flows inside a Steam Ejector with Liquid–Vapor Phase Change Using CFD Simulations

open access: yesThermo
In this work, different CFD models to compute flows inside a steam ejector were investigated. The results were compared to the analytical models as well as the experimental results from the literature.

Confirmation of the impact origin of the Late Ordovician Tvären impact structure (southeast Sweden) and emplacement of impactites in a marine setting

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 7, Page 1188-1212, July 2026.
Abstract The Tvären structure in southeastern Sweden has been listed as a confirmed marine‐target impact structure for decades. However, to date, no measurements and/or indexed data of planar deformation features in quartz grains from the structure have been published or any other unequivocal evidence of impact.
