Piercing Injury of the Pelvis With a Steel Bar
Orthopedics, 2012A piercing or penetrating injury of the pelvis by a steel bar is a rare condition compared with piercing or penetrating injuries of the extremities. We report the case of a 34-year-old woman who attempted a suicidal fall that resulted in the piercing of the pelvis with a long steel bar.

A Method for Imaging Steel Bars Behind a Ferrous Steel Boundary
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006A system for detecting steel objects behind ferrous steel boundaries is described. It may be used to image steel reinforcing bars in concrete, where a steel sheet exists between the bars and the surface. The sensor comprises a transmitter, receiver and a dummy coil, which cancels cross-talk and enhances the signal from the bars.

Abstract Cold-finished steel bars are carbon and alloy steel bar products (round, square, hexagonal, flat, or special shapes) that are produced by cold finishing previous hot-wrought bars. by means of cold drawing, cold forming, turning, grinding, or polishing (singly or in combination) to yield straight lengths or coils that are ...

Optimizing the Shearing of Steel Bars
Journal of Mechanical Engineering Science, 1960The paper deals with problems of scrap and waste incurred in the shearing of steel bars and with the effect of bar length variability on the scrap function. These basic problems are characteristic of many industrial operations. The analysis in this paper attempts to present solutions to the following: when no more than one final bar (product) is to be
