Bolted beam-to-column connection with buckling-restrained round steel bar dampers
, 2020In the design of steel building frames, comprehensive consideration is required to determine beam-to-column connections because their characteristics largely influence the performance of the whole frame.

A Method for Imaging Steel Bars Behind a Ferrous Steel Boundary
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006A system for detecting steel objects behind ferrous steel boundaries is described. It may be used to image steel reinforcing bars in concrete, where a steel sheet exists between the bars and the surface. The sensor comprises a transmitter, receiver and a dummy coil, which cancels cross-talk and enhances the signal from the bars.

In the conventional steel-concrete composite beams, the composite action is achieved by welded stud connectors which are encased into the cast-in-place concrete slab. This makes the deconstruction and reuse of the structural components almost impossible.

Abstract Cold-finished steel bars are carbon and alloy steel bar products (round, square, hexagonal, flat, or special shapes) that are produced by cold finishing previous hot-wrought bars. by means of cold drawing, cold forming, turning, grinding, or polishing (singly or in combination) to yield straight lengths or coils that are ...

Synergistic effects of steel fibres and expansive agent on steel bar-concrete bond
Cement & Concrete Composites, 2019Previous studies have revealed that adding separately fibres or expansive agent to concrete can improve the steel bar-concrete bond. However, there have been few systematic studies on the possible combined addition of fibres and expansive agent to ...
