Bond behavior between steel bar and engineered cementitious composite (ECC) considering lateral FRP confinement: Test and modeling

Composite structures, 2019
Engineered cementitious composite (ECC) exhibits good post-cracking resistance and ductility and its unique properties make it a viable material for increasing structural performance under severe loading conditions.

Bolted beam-to-column connection with buckling-restrained round steel bar dampers

, 2020
In the design of steel building frames, comprehensive consideration is required to determine beam-to-column connections because their characteristics largely influence the performance of the whole frame.

Electrochemical investigation on the influence of sulfates on chloride-induced corrosion of steel bar in cement-based materials

, 2020
The combined action of chloride and sulfate attacks is an important durability problem for RC structures long-termly dwelled in marine environment. This paper experimentally investigates the influence of sulfates on chloride-induced corrosion of steel ...

A Method for Imaging Steel Bars Behind a Ferrous Steel Boundary

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2006
A system for detecting steel objects behind ferrous steel boundaries is described. It may be used to image steel reinforcing bars in concrete, where a steel sheet exists between the bars and the surface. The sensor comprises a transmitter, receiver and a dummy coil, which cancels cross-talk and enhances the signal from the bars.

Buckling-restrained brace using round steel bar cores restrained by inner round steel tubes and outer square steel tube

Engineering Structures, 2019
This study proposes a buckling-restrained brace (BRB) which is composed of round steel bar cores restrained by inner round steel tubes and an outer square steel tube.

Study on composite beams with prefabricated steel bar truss concrete slabs and demountable shear connectors

, 2020
In the conventional steel-concrete composite beams, the composite action is achieved by welded stud connectors which are encased into the cast-in-place concrete slab. This makes the deconstruction and reuse of the structural components almost impossible.

Cold-Finished Steel Bars

1990
Abstract Cold-finished steel bars are carbon and alloy steel bar products (round, square, hexagonal, flat, or special shapes) that are produced by cold finishing previous hot-wrought bars. by means of cold drawing, cold forming, turning, grinding, or polishing (singly or in combination) to yield straight lengths or coils that are ...

Synergistic effects of steel fibres and expansive agent on steel bar-concrete bond

Cement & Concrete Composites, 2019
Previous studies have revealed that adding separately fibres or expansive agent to concrete can improve the steel bar-concrete bond. However, there have been few systematic studies on the possible combined addition of fibres and expansive agent to ...

Bond Performance of Steel Bar in RAC under Salt-Frost and Repeated Loading

, 2020
The pullout tests are performed to investigate the bond performance of steel bar in recycled coarse aggregate concrete (RAC) under salt-frost (S-F) and repeated loading, and compared with t...
