Mechanical Analysis of Tunnel Steel Frame with Steel Frame and Sprayed Concrete Combination Model
Advanced Materials Research, 2014To research the mechanical regularity of steel frame in tunnel, Steel frame and Sprayed concrete Combination Model is applied and the large-section loess tunnel of highway is taken as an example. The hoop stress of flange and the radial stress of web were analyzed, the research results show that:The most areas of hoop stress of flange is in press, the ...

Seismic Damage Assessment of Steel Frames
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1998The seismic damage analysis of steel frames based on the use of global evaluation indices is addressed. A general procedure is proposed aimed at estimating the degree of damage induced by severe earthquakes in structures not supplied with monitoring systems. Special reference is made to the Park-Ang, McCabe-Hall, and plastic fatigue indices.

Nonlinear analysis of a steel frame
Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2009Abstract Nonlinear seismic analysis is used in structural engineering profession to design steel frames for moderate to strong earthquakes. Following the Northridge earthquake of 1994 in Southern California, widespread damage to many steel frames was discovered.

In this chapter, the braced frame system and its effects on building systems is demonstrated. The first section of this chapter focus on the behavior of the braced frame system subjected to gravity and lateral load. The structure is analyzed by approximate methods and the virtual work method is used to explain and calculate the frame’s displacement ...

Effect of Steel Moment-Frame Connections on Robustness of Steel Frames Against Progressive Collapse
The effect on connection performance of the potentially large catenary forc-es that can develop during progressive collapse has not yet been adequately studied in the literature. While undergoing large deformation, the load-resistance mechanism shifts from the traditional flexural mechanism to a ca-tenary mechanism, and the tensile axial force becomes ...Massimiliano Ferraioli +3 more
