Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

One size does not fit all: An in vitro evaluation of the effects of bezafibrate and medroxyprogesterone acetate on human SH‐SY5Y and U‐87 MG cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Drugs previously repurposed to target blood cancers reduced neuroblastoma and glioblastoma cell growth and viability. However, their levels of anticancer activity were different and their clinical application may be problematic due to side effects at effective doses.

Warm rolling combined with rare earth yttrium segregation induces secondary recrystallization in strip-cast Fe-3%Si grain-oriented silicon steel

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
The effect of warm-rolling on the microstructure, texture, and magnetic properties of ultra-low carbon yttrium (Y) -doped grain-oriented (Y-GO) Fe-3%Si steel as-cast strips were systematically investigated.

Inuence of Foam Filling on Dynamic Response of Hemispherical Shell Subjected to Blast Pressure. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The paper aims to investigate the effect of aluminium foam filling of hemispherical steel shell on its dynamic response, accounting for the blast pressure modelling. The considered structures subjected to uniformly distributed pressure, rigidly connected

Clinical Validation of Plasma p‐217tau in Neurological Diseases

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma p‐217tau is a minimally invasive but specific biomarker for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its disease specificity remains to be clinically evaluated. We validated the reliability of the p‐217tau biomarker in 12 other neurological diseases.

Laboratory Study on Oxide Inclusions in High-Strength Low-Alloyed Steel Refined by Slag with Basicity 2–5

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes, 2015
Non-metallic inclusions in high-strength low-alloyed steel refined by slag with basicity (B) 2–5 and Al2O3 content 20%–30% (in mass percent) were investigated by slag–metal equilibrium experiments in laboratory and thermodynamic calculations.

A study on levitation performance improvement of bent flexible steel plate

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2018
Levitation improvement of the bending levitation performance of thin steel plate was performed. First, the point of the steel plate where the vibration is predominantly generated was estimated using an ultrathin steel plate with a thickness of 0.18 mm ...

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.
