Targeted Restoration of the Microbial Tryptophan Oxidative Pathway Ameliorates Autism‐Like Behavioral and Synaptic Deficits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis, yet the contribution of specific microbial metabolic pathways remains unclear. Reanalysis of a public ASD cohort revealed reduced functional potential in microbial tryptophan oxidative metabolism.

Analysis of the therapeutic effect of artificial leather embedding combined with fascial sleeve flap transplantation on chronic wounds of lower limbs with bone and plate exposure

open access: yesBMC Surgery, 2022
Background After severe trauma of lower limbs, bone, tendon or plate graft exposure is common. The traditional repair method is to use a variety of skin flap transplantation to cover the exposed part, but the wound often can not heal after operation, or ...

Co‐Delivery of Sustained Release Chondroitinase ABC‐37 With Human iPSC‐Derived Neural Progenitors Promotes Transplant Survival and Functional Recovery in a Rodent Model of Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A regenerative strategy for stroke combines human stem cell–derived neural progenitor cells with sustained release of a matrix‐modifying, thermostable chondroitinase ABC‐37 enzyme. In a rat model of stroke, co‐delivery enhanced transplanted cell survival and neuronal differentiation, degraded inhibitory extracellular matrix components, and improved ...

New device for saphenous vein-to-aorta proximal anastomosis without side-clamping

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2007
Background Side clamping to perform saphenous vein-to-aorta proximal anastomosis is a well known cause of cerebral embolization during coronary bypass surgery.

VDAC1 Upregulation Induces Hyperexcitability of Nociceptive Sensory Neurons Via Enhanced Mitochondrial Atp Efflux in Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanism diagram of VDAC1 mediating neuronal excitability and neuropathic pain. Briefly, VDAC1 is expressed in DRG neurons and is upregulated following CCI‐induced neuropathic pain. This upregulation enhances ATP transport from mitochondria to the cytoplasm in sensory neurons, leading to increased neuronal excitability and pain behavior.

Effectiveness of Palatopharyngeal Surgery Modifications in Obstructive Sleep Apnea: A Meta‐analysis

open access: yesOTO Open
Objective The effectiveness of various palatopharyngeal surgeries is currently poorly understood. This study compares various palatopharyngeal surgery techniques without tonsillectomy for reducing the apnea‐hypopnea index (AHI).

Repair Integrity and Re-tear Pattern after Arthroscopic Suture-Bridge Rotator Cuff Repair Abbreviating Medial-row Knot-tying

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2019
Objectives: Recently suture bridging technique has become the most popular footprint reconstruction procedure, and many surgeons prefer to perform lateral row fixation after tying the medial-row suture.

Effect of steel wire sutures on the incidence of chemically induced rodent colonic tumours

open access: yesJournal of British Surgery, 1986
Abstract An experiment is presented which shows that colonic primary tumours cluster around a previously constructed anastomosis and that the choice of suture materials (but not the technique of their insertion) can influence this. In a rodent model where dimethylhydrazine was administered 2 months after surgery, anastomotic tumours were

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Outside-In-Outside Repair Technique for Anterior Horn and Body Meniscal Tear: A Modified Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques
Meniscus is an important structure within the knee to maintain stability and load gravity distribution. Compared with meniscectomy, timely meniscal repair can reduce the risk of knee regression and laxity.
