Connection in Steel-Concrete Composite Truss
AbstractThe design specifications of composite truss, included in the American standard (ASCE), are not covered in the European standards (Eurocodes). In this study, to investigate the behavior of the composite trusses, a finite element (FE) model is developed using the software CAST3M.

Abstract This study introduces an innovative approach to strengthening defected reinforced concrete (RC) columns using externally bonded stainless steel and galvanized steel plates. Unlike conventional strengthening methods, this technique replaces traditional transverse stirrups with steel sheets, providing enhanced confinement and ductility.

Bending Performance of a Prestressed Concrete Composite Girder Bridge with Steel Truss Webs
An experiment was conducted on a prestressed concrete (PC) composite girder bridge with steel truss webs to investigate its flexural performance. The mechanical characteristics and failure modes of a PC composite girder bridge with steel truss webs was ...

Multi‐level fatigue reliability assessment of reinforced concrete railway bridges
Abstract This paper presents a multi‐level reliability framework for assessing the fatigue life of reinforced concrete (RC) railway trough bridges subjected to cyclic loading. The framework incorporates increasing levels of analytical complexity and real‐world data in four steps. First, an analytical model applies S–N curves and the Palmgren–Miner rule

Simple and detailed modeling of corrosion‐affected slender shear critical RC beams
Abstract The corrosion of steel bars compromises both the safety and the serviceability of reinforced concrete (RC) structures. Consequently, reliable tools are required to estimate the detrimental effects of corrosion on the structural response of RC members subjected to transverse loads.

IMPROVING STRUCTURAL EFFICIENCY OF STEEL COMBINED TRUSSES
The article considers the issues of increasing the efficiency of steel combined sprengel trusses by developing rational design solutions by improving their stressed-strain state. The research methodology is based on a comparative analysis of technical and economic indicators in terms of material consumption of traditional typical and lightweight ...

From section to structure: Assessing the impact of localized corrosion on reinforced concrete beams
Abstract The structural behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) elements affected by localized corrosion represents a major challenge for ensuring structural safety and for the proper design of strengthening interventions. The effects of localized corrosion on the flexural behavior of RC beams remain a topic of debate within the scientific community.
