An RCB-Like Steering Vector Estimation Method Based on Interference Matrix Reduction
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2021To develop an adaptive beamformer against the signal of interest (SOI) steering vector mismatch, a robust Capon beamformer (RCB) like steering vector estimation method based on the interference matrix reduction is proposed. Different from the RCB and its modified versions that optimize the SOI steering vector with the Capon power estimator, this ...

Recursive Steering Vector Estimation and Adaptive Beamforming under Uncertainties
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2013The accurate determination of the steering vector of a sensor array that corresponds to a desired signal is often hindered by uncertainties due to array imperfections, such as the presence of a direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation error, mutual coupling, array sensor gain/phase uncertainties, and sensor position perturbations.

Robust adaptive beamforming based on a new steering vector estimation algorithm
Signal Processing, 2013A new approach to the design of robust adaptive beamforming is introduced. In the proposed approach, the mismatch vector of the desired steering vector is estimated by solving a quadratically constrained quadratic programming problem using an interference-plus-noise subspace projection matrix.

Steering vector estimation and beamforming under uncertainties [PDF]
In this paper, we propose a new method for estimating the steering vector under uncertainties, which is utilized for improving the robustness of beamforming. We show that the desired steering vector can be estimated in closed form from a convex optimization problem by making use of the subspace principle.

An efficient interference steering matrix estimation scheme for weight vector correction
Digital Signal Processing, 2021Abstract To make the sensor array beamformer insensitive to steering vector error, an efficient interference steering matrix (ISM) estimation scheme for weight vector correction is devised in this paper. The basic idea of this approach is converting the training data into interference-free condition via ISM estimation, thereby correcting the weight ...

Robust Beamforming Based on Steering Vector Estimation via Iterative Algorithm
2021 13th International Conference on Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ICITEE), 2021The look direction error can cause the desired signal steering vector mismatch. With this imprecise knowledge of the look direction, the minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) beamformer suffers considerable performance degradation due to the ...

Effect of Steering Vector Estimation on MVDR Beamformer for Noisy Speech Recognition
2018 IEEE 23rd International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2018The minimum variance distortionless response (MV-DR) beamformer is a widely used beamforming technique that extracts sound components coming from a direction specified by a steering vector. In this paper, we present four different steering vector estimation methods and analyze their influence on the MVDR beamformer in speech recognition.
