Robust Beamforming Based on Steering Vector and Covariance Matrix Estimation

Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 2018
In this paper, a novel robust design algorithm based on estimation of signal steering vector and covariance matrix is developed. The theoretical covariance matrix is first estimated via the shrinkage method. Subsequently, the desired signal steering vector is estimated based on maximizing array output power under the correlation coefficient constraint ...

Robust adaptive beamforming based on covariance matrix and new steering vector estimation

Signal, Image and Video Processing, 2019
A new approach to the design of robust adaptive beamforming is introduced. In this approach, first the sample covariance matrix is replaced by the estimated interference-plus-noise covariance matrix which is constructed by exploiting the spatial spectrum distributions of a generalized Hermitian covariance matrix and the sample covariance matrix.

An improved design of robust adaptive beamforming based on steering vector estimation

2017 IEEE 7th International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing (CAMSAP), 2017
Consider an optimal design problem of robust adaptive beamforming of minimum variance distortionless response, based on estimation of steering vector. The optimal beamformer is obtained by computing the sample matrix inverse and an optimal estimate of the desired signal steering vector.

A Robust Adaptive Beamforming with Diagonal Loading and Steering Vector Estimation

2019 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Electronic Information and Communication Technology (ICEICT), 2019
A number of robust adaptive beamforming methods have been developed in recent years. These methods suffer from performance problems, some in low SNRs and others in high SNR especially when the desired signal is present in the sample training data. Among these approaches, the diagonal loading have proved the robustness in low SNR even for small size ...

Robust Adaptive Beamforming Based on Steering Vector Estimation and Covariance Matrix Reconstruction

IEEE Communications Letters, 2015
In this letter, a novel robust adaptive beamforming (RAB) technique is proposed. It offers robust performance even with large look direction error in the array steering vector (ASV) and an uncertainty in the covariance matrix. In essence, the proposed ASV estimation technique treats the ASV as a vector lying within the intersection of two subspaces ...

Robust Widely Widely Beamforming via the Technique of Shrinkage for Steering Vector Estimation

2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018
In this paper, two novel robust widely linear beamforming algorithms based on the technique of shrinkage are proposed, i.e., the WL-RBLW and the WL-OAS. Firstly, in order to remove the signal-of-interest's (SOl's) component from the sample covariance matrix (SCM), the augmented interference-plus-noise covariance matrix (A-IPNCM) is reconstructed based ...

Asymptotically optimum estimation of signal waveform in the presence of uncertainties about the steering vector

Signal Processing, 2013
Abstract The problem of signal waveform estimation using an antenna array in case of uncertainties about the steering vector is considered. New asymptotically (in sample size) optimum estimators are derived. In contrast to the known optimal solutions, the employed method of synthesis yields non-iterative direct-form estimators. Simulation results are

Sequenced Steering Vector Estimation for Eigen-Subspace Projection-Based Robust Adaptive Beamformer

open access: yesElectronics (Switzerland), 2023
Robust adaptive beamforming (RAB) is essential in many applications to ensure signal-receiving quality when model errors exist. Eigen-subspace projection (ESP), one of the most popular RAB methods, can be used when there are arbitrary model errors ...
