Stein Block Thresholding For Image Denoising [PDF]
International audienceIn this paper, we investigate the minimax properties of Stein block thresholding in any dimension $d$ with a particular emphasis on $d=2$. Towards this goal, we consider a frame coefficient space over which minimaxity is proved. The

Abstract Beneath the Hong Kong government's enthusiasm for recruiting non‐local undergraduates—including students from the Chinese Mainland and other international regions—lies a longstanding gap in understanding the core meanings and drivers shaping the territory's expanding focus on inward international student mobility (ISM).

Embedding of Stein spaces into sequence spaces
In this note we show that a connected, reduced Stein space X of arbitrary dimension admits a holomorphic embedding into various sequence spaces, for example into s,s',0(ℂn) or ℂ , and also into infinite dimensional complex Banach spaces. As an application we prove that the Frechet space 0 (X) of holomorphic functions on X is a quotient of s.

Form flows function: Learner‐centered game Re‐design in a STEM classroom
Abstract Re‐designing games facilitates interest‐driven learning and immerses learners in systems thinking. However, there are limited studies exploring how the form and function of tabletop games influence learners' design decisions and learning experiences. To address this gap, we conducted a mixed‐methods study in a STEM classroom in western Canada.

On general Carnot groups, the definition of a possible hypoelliptic Hodge-Laplacian on forms using the Rumin complex has been considered in (M. Rumin, “Differential geometry on C-C spaces and application to the Novikov-Shubin numbers of nilpotent Lie ...

Domains of holomorphy in Stein spaces
We prove an interpolation theorem for domains in Stein spaces that are locally Stein outside rare analytic sets and improve several existing results in this area. This is then applied to the Levi problem in Stein spaces.

New function spaces related to Morrey spaces and the Fourier transform [PDF]
We introduce new function spaces to handle the Fourier transform on Morrey spaces and investigate fundamental properties of the spaces. As an application, we generalize the Stein-Tomas Strichartz estimate to our spaces.

Abstract This study examines the under‐theorized political role and identity of Chinese international students, who emerge as significant actors caught between U.S. soft power ambitions and rising geopolitical suspicion. Amid escalating U.S.‐China tensions, these students are forced to confront environments shaped by competing geopolitical discourses ...

Abstract Previous research concerning Global South doctoral students in the United Kingdom has mainly situated their experiences within adaptationist paradigms, emphasising cultural adjustment and assimilation into Western academic norms. Such studies often depict students as passive recipients, overlooking their agency and the transformative potential
